Amy's POV
I sat stiffly in the chair across from Principal Hawthorne’s desk with Mr Donovan sitting beside me. Jessie was across from us with her mom, Mrs. Whitmore, who already looked like she’d rather be anywhere else than this meeting. Jessie wasn’t even trying to hide the way she kept glaring at me, like I’d personally ruined her life.
Principal Hawthorne finally cleared his throat.
“Alright, everyone, let’s keep this civil. We’re here to address the incident from earlier this week. Amy, you were suspended for two days for slapping Jessie during lunch. And Jessie got similar punishment for her degrading words towards Amy. That’s not how we resolve disagreements in this school, not by brutality.”
Before I could respond, Mrs. Whitmore leaned forward.
