I jumped and winced immediately when he whispered those words in my ear, and I turned quickly towards him with a frown on my face.
“Jeez.. relax.” Aaron smiled. “It's just a…”
“I know what it means.” I cut him off. “I just find it disturbing given the point in time.”
He chuckled freely.
“You're overreacting. Relax, Amy. It's nothing you can't handle.”
From the passenger seat at the front, Mom glanced at me through the rearview mirror. She was always like that. I couldn't even have a normal conversation with Aaron without Mom giving me disgusting looks.
“So you are really going to show up at your graduation party as the only single guy.” Mom pointed out matter-of-factly.
“Yes, Mom,” I replied tersely. “That's in fact what's happening.”
