Without wasting much time, Aaron slowly approached the house, curious about what the officers had come to share, and I really hoped that they brought news about Stuart's arrest or something.
“…I believe it's safe to assume that he's either in hiding or has gone out of the state already.”
I heard one of the officers speaking to Mr Donovan as we both walked in. The other officer was slowly scanning the house, almost as if he was expecting Stuart to suddenly spring out of hiding.
“Wouldn't you have known if he tried to leave the state?” Mr Donovan asked. “Like, wouldn't you have picked him up on one of your radar thingies or something?”
