Chapter 15

The soldiers, began firing at different directions as the specimen quickly moves away from ceiling to ceiling as it avoids the bullets that has been fired away.

It is agile and quick, as it grabs like a monkey swinging on the pipes. With its scythe in its hand, it utilizes its crescent shape to add momentum to his swings, making him much harder to hit.

“Boys don’t lose sight of the specimen,” the captain ordered as he shoots towards the specimen.

Because of its agile movements, it’s hard to shoot at.

The specimen released a maniacal laugh, that echoed throughout the place and for some reason it gave a chilling feels to their nerves. Nonetheless they continue to fire their guns towards the soldiers, and this turned out quickly to be a battle for survival.

“Get the weapon out,” the captain shouted, and the two soldiers put the brief case down on the floor and they began to open it and put out the secret weapon inside it.

It is a big cannon with digital interface on the side of it which shows numbers.

“Prepare and fire it on my mark,” the captain ordered his soldier and they acted quickly as soon as they get the message from the captain.

The put out the weapon from its case while the others continue to fire at the creature to prevent it from getting near to them.

They know its dangers as the captain has stated all the information that has been included in the paper, that was given by the peace keeper.

They know what it is capable of, and its dangers. Thus, giving it a color code of a bloody crimson.

“Sir, we need to trap the specimen, if we want to capture it,” one of the soldiers that prepared the weapon informed his captain.

“I agree with him sir! It’s so agile and we only have three ammunitions with us,” the other one added. With how big the weapon, it is too heavy to aim efficiently, and with an agile target, it will end up wasting their ammunition to each other.

“Copy,” the captain replied to the two soldiers, and then he turned back towards the rest of his soldiers. “Lopez, Salonga,” he called to them. “Go get that son of a b***h,” he ordered and they quickly obliged to his orders as they started to run towards the creature that they are about to chase.

The two stopped firing, so they can track down the creature, and with bullets flying everywhere it is impossible for them to do so.

The others continued to fire at the specimen.

But them without the distraction of their guns, can clearly see, its silhouette as it moves like some sort of super hero.

They are terrified to see how fast it moves, they know that evading a bullet fire is no joke as their guns are in the high caliber side, so they know how fast it travels. With one bullet avoided is understandable for them as they can say that is just a struck of luck.

But with bullet raining on it, and even just once, they still don’t hit it.

Its senses are sharpened that even the slightest of sound and danger, the creature can sense it.

All the vanguard that has been deployed in the area are all known as spectacular marksman so, them missing a lot of shots is impossible. The only explanation that they can think of, is that the creature is very skilled.

It sometimes uses its scythe in midair slicing the bullets in half.

Lopez and Salonga looks at each other, as both of them can’t think of a way how they can apprehend that creature.

When they started to notice that it stopped playing with them by avoiding all the bullets. It started to get away from them.

“Chase it!” Captain Reyes shouted at them. “USE YOUR NETS!” he added. Then they remembered that they have a gun that resembles a flare gun but fires a tazer net, that shocks all the creatures that has been captured by it.

They pulled it out as they chase the specimen that is starting to get away from them.

It traversed through the pipes, since they can’t have a perfect opportunity firing the net at it. With the pipes blocking the way, as it can catch the net when fired at it.

“Bro, shot it down, I will be the one to fire the net at it,” Salonga told Lopez.

“Good Plan,” he said, as he puts back his tazer net gun and pulled out his rifle again.

Lopes started to shoot its bullets at it again.

“Why they have to put so much pipes in this place,” Lopez complained, as his bullets only hits the pipes. The creature is smart enough to use the pipes to cover him from the gunfire.

“s**t!” he said as he ran out of ammo. They kept running and running not allowing the creature to get out of their sight. He pulls out a magazine and released the empty magazine leaving it on the ground.

“Dude, it’s starting to put distance on us,” Salonga said.

“Not for long,” he said as he completely reloaded the gun.

He took a deep breathe and stopped running. He put a knee down on the ground to put more stability on his gun.

He looks at the creature predicting its every move.

Predicting where it will be.

When Lopez is finished calculating all the odds he pulled the trigger once, which released three bullets that is capable of penetrating thick walls.

In an instant, Lopez predicted it correctly as he hits the specimen in the leg. All three bullets hit the leg, and Lopez felt so happy about it. They saw it fall.

“Nice one boi!” Salonga complimented his ally. “Let’s go!” he shouted and they rushed towards the fallen specimen. Lopez stood up happily knowing that he hits the jackpot and pulled out his tazer net gun, in case that that Salonga missed his shot.

When they reached the location, where the specimen has fallen, they saw it there lying down. The two assumed that it is dead for some reason. Since they saw the creature fell from a high place. Since the scythe its main weapon has some distance from its hand, the had the confidence to get near it.

It wears a ripped hoodie, as per the description says, and its skin is color gray. They can’t see its face completely

“Shall I fire the net?” Salonga asked Lopez.

“I don’t know dude, what’s the order?” he asked back.

“Capture it, not waste bullet,” he answered.

“Fire the net, just to make sure that this one won’t escape again,” Lopez said.

“If you say so,” he said as he points his tazer net gun again towards the creature. Their eyes widened as they saw the specimen that they are about to capture is gone, and nowhere to be seen.

“Where is it?” Lopez asked frantically to Salonga.

“I don’t know!” Salonga shouted back at him.

“Dude! Where will we find that s**t?” he asked.

“I don’t know maybe in your butt?”

“This is not the time for your jokes dude,” we need to find that creature quickly,” Salonga said.

“Okay, just chill the F down dude,” Lopez replied, and they put their guns in front of them trying to find the specimen that escaped their grasp.

“I can’t believe that it still manages to escape us,” Salonga muttered.

“If only you fired the net,” Lopez told him.

“Well... that’s my fault I gu-“

They stopped on their tracks when they heard a strange noise that comes from their behind. Before they can even turn around completely, the creature used its scythe to stab Lopez from behind since the creature sees him as a major threat for being able to hit him that speed. Since it is so worried about it, he is able to shoot him.

“AHH!” Lopez shouted in pain as he felt the pointed part of the scythe was stabbed to his chest.

“Geez dude!” Salonga said as he saw his friend being dragged into darkness. He tried to chase his friend but the creature dragged him in great speed. Salonga can’t keep up as he just stops and stood there watching his friend to be taken away to the darkness.

He can clearly hear the echoes of the scream that his friend is letting out and he is surely terrified by what he is hearing.

Fear overcame his mind, and he pointed his tazer net gun in different directions as he is not sure where the creature might be. It uses its scythe to tap on the pipes creating metal sounds that confuses Salonga the most because he is not sure where to look at.

With its maniacal laughter, adding up to the fear of Salonga.

His body is extremely shaking because the creature is attacking the poor guy psychologically. The laughter was etched inside his mind.

When the paranoia took over his mind, he released the tazer net gun from his hand. Even tho he knows that he volunteered to be one of the vanguards to protect the country he didn’t imagine that this his death is going to be super scary and he cannot accept the fact that he will die this way.

“LEAVE ME ALONE!” he shouted as started to run away back to his squad.

He sprinted as fast as he could but he can hear the fast clanging of the metals behind him chasing him around.

He ran as fast as he could to get away from the deathly grasp of death from his hands.

“I don’t want to die!” he shouted.

Two bodies dropped from up above scaring him the most that made him lose his balance.

He stared at the two dead bodies hanging, while their blood dripping down on the floor, like a fountain. One of them is his friend, Lopez, eyes gouge out, jaw ripped apart, and his hands are missing. The other one is a woman that does not wear a uniform like them. But it is missing its head. It is wearing a civilian outfit.

He is confused, on who is the woman but not long after his attention was caught when the creature descended. It stood up using its scythe.

With a cackling laughter.

It walks towards the dead bodies and as the light flickers around him, he does not have the slightest idea. But it has a face of a man but with a big lump on its fore head and its teeth is cracked, and his bones can be seen.

“Jesus, save me,” he muttered when the creature is standing in front of him. The last moment he saw was the scythe being raised and quickly strikes him.

His head rolled over the floor, while the reaper is continuing with his maniacal laughter.
