Natalie sat across from Noah, a blank look on her face, she wasn't very enthusiastic about the tutoring and worse of all she found him quite distracting. They'd been studying Shakespeare for a while, Noah's head was bent low, his eyes stuck to the book trying to understand what the hell he was reading.
"I don't understand s**t" he groaned after a while. Natalie looked up, her blue eyes observing his slouched figure, his dark hair tousled on his head, and his forehead scrunched up in confusion. Natalie sighed, taking the book from his side of the table and looking through it. she did admit that A midsummer night's dream was quite complicated for the likes of Noah but then again she found it quite hard to get around it herself, especially when a hot dark haired individual was staring the f**k out of her.
"Maybe we should do this tomorrow, I need to practice my play with Jacob" she said, shoving the book into her bag. Noah sat up immediately at the mention of Jacob's name. He frowned and his lips fell into a thin a line.
"There's a party tonight, was wondering if you wanna come, I'll live if u did" he informed her. Natalie paused, looking at him for a second. For a split second she considered it but then changed her mind.
"Another time" she murmured.
"oh come on, Nat" She paused at the nickname, glancing him over before shrugging. Noah smiled, though his smile was shortlived by the appearance of the one and only Catherine, her mere presence took Natalie back to her first day in school when she was drowned in smoothie.
Catherine walked over to Noah and pecked his lips before turning to Natalie who had a blank expression on her face. "Tutor time is over, Noah and I have somewhere to be". Noah didn't say anything, he stared and she stared right back. Natalie slung her bag over her shoulder and headed out without sparing them another glance. she headed out of the school building and under the bleachers where she was sure to find Jacob and sure enough he was there, smoking the hell out of his brains. His two friends were nowhere it be found.
"Jacob" she said slowly, he looked up, sighed, took the cigarette out of his mouth and smashed it on the ground. Natalie handed him a piece of gum because she didn't want to smell whatever was left of the smoke in his mouth.
"thought you were with snicket or something" he asked, popping the gum into his mouth and chewing down on it slowly.
"we're done" she replied lowly. Jacob raised an eyebrow and then chuckled lightly.
"he ditched, went away with his b***h of a girlfriend" he said, looking Natalie straight in the eye. Natalie kept a blank face but she felt the pain in her heart at Jacob's words. Maybe Noah was just playing with her, maybe it was part of Catherine's plan to get her final revenge.
"Are we doing the project or not?" she inquired, giving Jacob a dirty look. He shrugged. She turned and headed out from under the bleachers, the duo headed to Jacob's car that was parked at the end of the school's parking lot. "my house or yours?" he asked, opening the door of the car for Natalie to enter.
"mine" Jacob nodded, started the car and drove off. Cree wasn't home but Darius was, seated at the counter eating cookies and drinking milk. A scenerio Natalie found strange for a 6 foot giant covered in. tattoos. Jacob gave him a bro hug, stole one of his cookies and was off somewhere in the house.
"How was school?" he asked Natalie. she gave him a thumbs up and headed straight for the stairs after Jacob. Jacob was on her room, pacing around, looking at everything once again. He took a seat in the arm chair and stared. Natalie sat on the bed, she took out the packet Miss Miller had given them and looked though it.
"Romeo and Juliet" she announced.
"Doesn't that have a kissing scene or something?" Natalie turned a bloody red at Jacob's statement. He chuckled, liking the reaction he got out of her.
"It'll be good, Noah would be pissed" Jacob mused, running his hand through his hair. He was hot, Natalie couldn't deny it. He was better than Noah in so many ways but then she found herself in the middle of what one would call a triangle.
"what's with you and pissing Noah off?" she asked, looking him straight in the eye. she was never really free with anyone but here she was having a conversation with Jacob.
Jacob laughed "Noah's a d**k, everyone knows that, he's done s**t, that I'm never gonna forgive him for, story for another day". Natalie didn't say anything, she flipped through the pages of the packet before handing Jacob one but they were too distracted, to even do anything. They spoke to themselves through the silence that enveloped the room.
"Noah invited me for his party" She blurted out. She didn't know what she needed to tell Jacob that piece of information. Jacob raised an eyebrow, staring at her with a look of confusion.
"Don't tell me you're considering going" From Natalie's silence, he could already guess that she had considered it. she'd changed. this wasn't the Natalie he knew a few weeks ago, the one that was too scared to utter a word or scared of people in general. She was evolving and lowkey Jacob didn't like it. " if you're going then I'm going too". Natalie looked up at him, even though she didn't say it, she was grateful. Jacob sighed, settling into the chair further. "f**k Nat" he cursed and then silence.
