An hour later, Selena rushed to the police station.
She found Marcus sitting miserably on a bench, his messy hair disheveled and a nasty bruise on the corner of his handsome mouth.
Selena let out a sigh of relief. Heaven knew how worried she had been when she got his call, thinking he was gravely injured.
Ignoring her surroundings entirely, she walked straight up to him.
Cupping his face, she gently touched the bruise. A wave of concern she didn't even realize she felt washed over her. "What happened? Does it hurt?"
Seeing her concern, Marcus couldn't help but smile. He wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, burying his face in her stomach. "It hurts so much, Selena. But at least I finally get to see you."
Selena froze. Had he really started this fight just to see her?
