There is an awkward silence in the room soon after Frankie disappeared out the door, leaving me and Jaxon alone. I don't know why I'm suddenly feeling anxious around him or perhaps I'm nervous about asking him to take me to town to shop for a dress to wear to a date with his brother. Considering how he his behaviour has been unpredictable for the past days, I worry if he will respond with kindness.
"So...how did you know where to find me?" He asks with interest inkling in his eyes.
"I just checked every room in the mansion," I promptly reply. He gapes at me, his eyebrows lifted in surprise, "well you must have been searching for quite some time because I do not even know how many rooms are in this mansion," he says.
