Riley Hearing him talk, opening up to me like we were actual friends almost brought a tear to my eye but in the end it was his story of arguing parents and a small boys need to get away from it all that broke the dam. I could picture him clearly even though I had never seen a photograph of a kid Elliot. In fact I was pretty sure no one had. He kept his past locked down tight. No one really knew anything about him, not really and I was no exception . So I felt privileged that he had trusted me enough to open and share a little glimpse into his history. I couldn’t understand , so I didn’t try to say I I did. I had come from a perfect cookie cutter family. We didn’t have a lot but we had always been there for each other. I couldn’t even imagine growing up in a family like Elliot’s.
