So much had changed.
Although it seemed like only yesterday that a very drunk Riley had felt me up in a bar thinking I was some one else. Not that I minded how we started, I didn’t regret any of the embarrassing moments that drew Riley deeper and deeper into my life. Mainly because I couldn’t imagine my life without her now.
I had given up swimming professionally , officially retiring after bringing home the gold, and with everything that had happened afterwards I had no doubt I would have been adrift with Riley.
Even back then when she seemed to make a fool of herself and me as well she had had a quiet strength to her.
Strength and kindness.
That was what Riley brought into my life. That and unbelievable happiness.
