6 - The Wedding

Amethyst is fidgeting her fingers as they already placed the flower crown around her head. "You are very beautiful, princess." One of the girls who fixed her hair exclaimed as they put on the last of their finishing touches while the other girls nodded in agreement. "You are absolutely the most beautiful princess I have ever seen." She immediately blushed as she was not very used to being praised like that. It was only Fera who always mentioned that she’s a beauty but she never truly believed it herself. "It's true, princess. I agree." Rosie also exclaimed as she handed her a simple bouquet of beautiful white tulips. "Thanks." Princess Amethyst said as she took the flowers and smelled them. She was now becoming a bit teary-eyed and emotional. She thought of her mother and her family. It would have been wonderful if they were here with her at her wedding. But they weren't and never will be. And then her thoughts drifted once again to Caspian, the man she first loved and admired and wanted to be with for the rest of her life. Sadly, life happens and it doesn’t seem to go where you want it to be. She blinked her tears away to not ruin the beauty they made out of her and tried to smile, inhaling deeply to calm her nerves. “Absolutely a beautiful bride.” The maiden servants said and looked at her in awe as they wished they can also have her beauty. *** It was just a simple wedding like what she always wanted. However, it still feels a bit luxurious as to how everything was arranged according to her liking and even more beyond her expectations. She just talked about all these details with Uri on the ship and they just arrived here yesterday but everything in the palace garden now are what she had actually imagined. Not to mention how mother nature did a great job decorating just by being itself. Twinkle lights were placed liberally amongst the trees and it looked beautiful. They set up a reflecting pond in the side of the garden which has vines and roses on it twisting up the arbour, chandeliers and a trio of musicians float on the water as they strum their heartstrings exquisitely. Unfortunately, there were no more guests aside from the ones serving for them in the palace, Rosie and Uri. But then again, she just had to go with the flow. Her eyes roamed and gazed at the baby’s breath flower which filled the sides of the aisle. And at the very end of it is a natural arch wrapped in wild greenery which adds to the bucolic ambience. It has a flowy drape for a more ethereal romantic feeling.   Standing there now is my groom. A man who’s back I can only see for now. He has a very good physique. He’s definitely tall and his red hair was messily tied up. He was wearing a suit which made him look good even from behind. And then she started at the music’s mark, she began marching down the aisle. Good thing, she miraculously recovered from her swollen ankle and wrist that night in the ship when she saw the bird. Or else she would be a bit limping as she walks down the aisle today. Then she saw her groom finally turning slowly to see her. He was wearing a mask for the half part of his face and he looked at her intently. His gaze was intense and felt like it’ll melt her anytime soon. But she pushed herself and walked towards him, going nearer and nearer, then she noticed how his left eye was coloured red. And his right eye, the one covered with a silver-coloured mask is white with only his pupil being black and it looked like that of a serpent. So unique, she immediately thought. And attractive. The man she is looking at right now is handsome beyond words. His features are unique and strong. His body built and height is what every girl would wish for. He’s huge compared to her small frame. And as for him, he just continued to stare at her intently, his face was stoic. So when she finally reached the end of the aisle, he looked at her in the eye, took her hand and kissed it. “We finally meet, Princess Amethyst.” He said dangerously. *** The wedding was blissful. Though it was just only us and the palace’s servant and some officials, Amethyst felt light and happy. Her new husband was pretty chill throughout the ceremony and everything after. Since there’s not much done because it wasn’t that traditional, it all happened fast. He was just too serious and never really had that many expressions nor emotions. Or maybe she just can’t see it fully coz half of his face was with a mask. Then she was led into a room where the maidens bathe her. She was a bit anxious at first because they will see her whole body. But then again, she just gave in and was glad that none of them has bothered to ask. They just scrubbed her and gave her fresh clothes, dried her hair and brushed it. She even almost sneezed with all the fragrance they put on her and they giggled. Then they took her to a different room again after everything. Rosie said that she had to stay there for tonight. After she left, she started feeling nervous again and she didn’t know why. Amethyst just sat there at the edge of the bed and fidgeted on her fingers. For her to calm down a bit, she looked around the room. It was a bit dark compared to her room and twice bigger than hers. The brick walls were all black, it looks so mannish. But overall, it is still a very well designed room.   Masculine. Very masculine. Amethyst gasped when she finally realized that this room is her new husband’s room, King Cronus of Mortana. Her nervousness now hit her hard on the edge. She then tried to go to the door and tried to open it but it was locked. Her mind blanked for a bit but then she eventually grasped that it is actually their wedding night and that any moment from now, her new husband would come in. Wedding Night. She can’t believe she’s married. “I don’t think I am ready for this.” She whispered to herself softly. “Cronus will be here soon…What am I going to do?” She started pacing back and forth until the door swung open and her husband entered. Her eyes widen and she didn’t know what to do. Her inward self is now panicking. And when the door closed, he just walked past her and went into his bathroom. She sighed in relief. However, her mind is still racing as to what would happen next. She sat down again and placed her hands on her face. Thinking back to how he sounded the first time she heard his voice, it was a bit familiar. She just can’t grasp yet how she felt different when he’s around. Due to that, she didn’t notice that Cronus was already finished showering and is now slowly moving towards her. “Sorry to keep you waiting, princess.” He said pulling Amethyst out of her reverie. “Huh?” She uttered as she saw him deliberately walking towards her. He was just wearing a towel and her eyes widen when she saw his upper body. She gulped at his super-toned 8 packs abs, firm chest and stone hard biceps. He has a seductive smirk on his face and Amethyst is sure she’s turning red at the moment. “Like what you see, princess?” He teased daringly as he stood tall in front of her. Amethyst immediately looked the other way as she closed her eyes. So he then knelt in front of her, picked up her chin and gently forced her to look at him. Now, that he is so close again, she can see the burning desire in his red velvet eye. The mask on his half-face however, made him look more dangerous. They exchanged rings bands as the music beautifully played in the background. Then she stared at the ring on her finger for a while. She looked at her husband, and for a time being, she thought she saw something different in his red and white eyes which was gone with just a blink. Could it be? But she immediately dismissed the idea because that will never happen. It is simply impossible. They just met today. I am a married woman now, Amethyst thought. “You may now kiss the bride.” The officiating minister announced after he finished his talk about the importance of marriage, love and loyalty. Cronus slowly cupped her face and made her face him. He looked at her intently and she was spellbound as to how deep his red and white eyes are. Then slowly he leaned down until their forehead touched and then he kissed her quickly on her lips. “What are you thinking, princess?” He asked as his head got closer to her face. “Thinking about us?” “N-nothing.” She answered nervously and swallowed the lump on her throat. “Then why are your lips trembling?” He inquired once again as his thumb gently brushed against her lower lip. “Such beautiful and tempting lips…” “I…I…” She stuttered. “I’m not…” Then he smirked and leaned down further, closing their gap, until their forehead and nose touched. He breathes in deeply as his hand cupped one side of her face and she winced a little which made him pull away. Then he stared at her. Cronus saw a slight discolouration on that side of her face, he’s, sure enough, it’s a bruise. “How’d you get a bruise there?” He asked right away, quite concerned, but he immediately masked it with an expressionless face. He didn’t notice it earlier because it was covered with some make-up. But now he can see it better with her bare skin. It has already lightened ever since she left but it still hurts when pressed. “N-nothing. I…I bump my head.” She stood up and walked away as she turned her back and touched her bruise. Cronus followed her and grab her hand. Then again he gently forced her to face him and as she did, he immediately leaned down and claimed her lips. He kissed her deeply as he longed for it. Amethyst recovered from her shock and started to struggle against him. But he was in control no matter how much she struggled. She started pounding her hands on his chest and pushing him away but he was completely immovable. His lips were demanding but still gentle enough not to hurt her. He was such a good kisser. So Amethyst then got lost in his kisses that she eventually stopped struggling. He directed her towards the wall and pinned her. Desire overpowering the both of them as they continued to kiss. Then his lips started travelling to her earlobes which made her let out a soft moan and made Cronus stirred. His hands started to roam around her body, feeling her. And his lips went down to her neck and shoulder as he pulled down a side of her dress to expose it. “Beautiful.” Cronus unknowingly voiced out. Amethyst was so lost until she heard that word. And then a feeling of familiarity crept into her. A flashback. Her past. Then she suddenly remembered how Caspian told her she was beautiful and how he kissed her and how he made love with her. Why was I thinking about a different man when I'm now with my husband? “Stop…” She immediately voiced out when she came to her senses. Cronus kept doing what he’s doing until Amethyst slightly pushed him away. “Please stop.” She begged as she pulled up her sleeve and fixed her dress. She was panting. She crossed her arms. “Sorry…” “Why?” He demanded looking a bit hurt but that too immediately went away. Now he looked more dangerous as he was before. He’s annoyed. “I’m not ready for this, King Cronus.” Amethyst voiced out as she hugged herself, calming her senses. A surge of anger came over to Cronus and he scoffed. “Huh.” Cronus mocked as he looked at her. “Don’t pretend to be an innocent girl who doesn’t have any experience with any of this.” “What do you mean?” She asked. Then he stepped back and shook his head as he looked at her up and down. “It doesn’t fit you, princess.” He mocked. “I know you’re no longer pure. I know you’re not a virgin, so don’t act as if you are.” Blood rushed up to Amethyst face and she turned crimson red feeling embarrassed. “Stop your innocent act and just do what you always do.” He continued as he slowly walked towards her again. “Isn’t this what you do best, princess? Why? Is having s*x with your husband nothing compared to w*****g yourself with your palace guards?” She shook her head in denial, tears started forming in her eyes. “That’s not true.” “Which part is not true?” Cronus asked meeting her gaze. “Is it the part where you were playing innocent even if you are not? Or the part where I told you that you are a w***e?” PAK! She slapped him. She slapped her husband. “You don’t know me.” Amethyst firmly said as her tears treacherously fell off her hazel brown eyes. She looked so hurt after hearing his words and prejudices about her. Amethyst was shaking. For the first time in her life, she slapped someone. That someone is her husband. And now she was also surprised as to what she did. But for the first time, she stood firmly on her ground. “You don’t know anything about me.” Then she stormed off and locked herself in the bathroom. Cronus was a bit flabbergasted as to how things went that way. He rubbed his hands on his face and immediately put on his clothes. He left. ***
