Ch - 4: The Cure
"Alright then." Saying this, Siddharth blows out the candle. Just then, Nidhi throws the cake right at Siddharth's face. However, before the cake can make contact, Siddharth swiftly swaps places with Rahul; consequently, Rahul ends up standing exactly where Siddharth had been, and the cake lands squarely on *his* face instead.
"Haha! You shouldn't have messed with me. Look at what happened to you now!"
Suddenly, a voice rang out: "Wow! This cake is absolutely delicious!" Hearing this, everyone turned to look in that direction, and their jaws dropped in sheer astonishment.
Now, what happens next?
"Siddharth? If *you're* here, then who on earth is *that*?" It was only then that everyone realized the person on whom the cake had landed wasn't Siddharth at all—it was Rahul!
Enraged, Rahul grabbed Siddharth by the collar. "How dare you pull a stunt like that on me?" Saying this, he raised his fist, ready to punch Siddharth, when suddenly, their teacher—Priya—stepped in to stop him. "Rahul! What do you think you're doing? Let go of Siddharth immediately!"
"But, Teacher..."
"No 'buts'! All of you students—go back to your assigned seats and sit down."
Obeying Teacher Priya's command, all the students returned to their respective seats. "Siddharth," she said, "you may choose a seat for yourself and sit there."
"Alright, Teacher." Saying this, Siddharth began looking around for a place to sit. His eyes soon settled on a spot at the very back of the room—a comfortable sofa that had been placed there specifically for seating.
Siddharth walked over and sat down on it. Immediately, Nidhi spoke up: "Siddharth, you can't sit there!"
"What? Didn't the teacher just say that I could sit anywhere I wanted?"
Rahul chimed in, "That seat belongs to the Student Council President. No one else dares to sit there. Your little game is over now!"
However, Siddharth paid no heed to Rahul's words.
So, Rahul said to Nidhi, "Nidhi, do you want to get rid of him?"
"Yes! Do whatever it takes—just get him off my back!"
"Nidhi, we don't need to do anything ourselves. The President will take care of him. You just need to bring him to tomorrow's party."
Hearing this, a smile spread across Nidhi's face.
Meanwhile, Siddharth was sitting comfortably in the back, engrossed in playing a game; he remained completely oblivious to everything going on around him.
On the other side of the building, in a private room, two men were seated. One of them was the very same man who, earlier that morning, had been speaking with Suman Ji about marrying Nidhi.
Suddenly, the young man spoke up, "How dare that Suman Verma reject me? I will definitely teach her a lesson! I *will* marry her daughter—come what may!"
At that moment, the other man interjected, "Mr. Ravi Mehta, I have something here that will help you achieve exactly that." Saying this, he slid a small pouch across the table—inside lay a fine white powder. "Find a way to get him to consume this. The rest will take care of itself." Ravi snatched up the pouch and began to laugh maniacally.
Later that evening, once all the classes had concluded, Nidhi approached Siddharth. He was sprawled out comfortably on a sofa, fast asleep. It was hard to tell what he was dreaming about, but a blissful smile remained plastered across his face.
Suddenly, Nidhi hurled her bag right at Siddharth's face, causing him to wake up with a start. "Hey! What on earth are you doing?" he exclaimed in bewilderment.
"Come on, get up—and make it snappy! All the classes are over, and we need to head home. If I don't bring you back with me, my mother is going to give me an earful. So, let's get moving!"
"Alright, alright... let's go," Siddharth conceded. With that, Siddharth and Nidhi set off toward home. A short while later, they arrived at the house.
Suman Ji was at home. Siddharth approached her and said, "Suman Aunty, I have some work to attend to, so I'm heading out for a bit."
"Alright, Siddharth. Just make sure you come back soon, okay?"
"Will do, Aunty!" With that promise, Siddharth quickly headed out the door.
Once outside, Siddharth began walking along at a leisurely pace. Suddenly, he noticed a crowd gathered up ahead. Curious, Siddharth made his way over to join the throng. Upon arriving there, he saw an elderly woman lying on the ground, while an elderly man held her hand.
"Someone call an ambulance! Gayatri, come back to your senses! You know I can't live without you." As he spoke these words, tears streamed down the old man's face.
Just then, Siddharth approached them. "Let me do something," he said. With that, Siddharth pulled a silver needle from his pocket and inserted it into the elderly woman's body. After a short while, he withdrew all the silver needles and placed them back in his pocket.
At that moment, the elderly woman began to regain consciousness. Seeing this, the old man was overjoyed. "Gayatri! You've come to!"
"Yes, I'm back to my senses. But... why are you crying?"
"No, I'm not crying," the old man replied, wiping away his tears.
Then, Gayatri asked, "By the way, who was it that cured me?"
"Yes, it was this young man who cured you," he said, turning to look toward Siddharth. But Siddharth had vanished from the spot. The old man looked around for him, but Siddharth was nowhere to be seen.
"What are you looking around for? You still haven't told me who cured me." "Gayatri, it seems that young man has already left."
"Oh... so he just left like that?"
Just then, a luxury car pulled up and stopped, and a young woman stepped out. She walked straight over to the elderly couple.
"Grandpa, Grandma—how many times have I told you not to go out wandering all alone?"
The old man replied, "Aditi, you know how much we enjoy going out by ourselves."
"But Grandpa, you two aren't the same as you used to be. Grandma falls ill very often now, so neither of you should be going out alone."
"Come on now, hurry up and get into the car. We're going home." Heeding Aditi's words, the couple got into the car. However, just then, the old man spotted an ID card. He immediately reached for the ID... He picks up the card and begins to examine it.
Meanwhile, elsewhere, Siddharth stood before a Jade Market. He walked straight inside.
The market was bustling with activity; stones of various kinds were displayed in every shop, and people were touching and examining them. Siddharth then cast his spiritual gaze upon all the stones. Suddenly, in one of the shops, his eyes fell upon a particular stone—one that contained Jade.
