Ch - 2: Aunt Suman
Some time later...
Siddharth stood there, clutching his bag. "You are to go to Mumbai immediately. And if you dare set foot here again before you’ve graduated, I’ll break your legs!"
Hearing this, Siddharth felt a pang of panic. "Mom, you know I don't like studying! Please, don't send me away." As he spoke, Siddharth began to feign tears theatrically. Just then, Siddharth's mother—whose name was Anita—spoke up: "None of your excuses will work on me anymore. Now, get out—and fast! Oh, and from now on, you’ll be staying at your Aunt Suman’s house. So, hurry up and get lost!"
What happens next...
Having said this, Anita shut the door. "Well, isn't this something? *I*—the one who once ruled the Immortal World—am actually going to school? Come on, Siddharth, my boy; move it, or Mom’s going to give you a beating!"
With those words, Siddharth left the place.
Some time later, Siddharth stood before a grand villa. He walked straight inside. Upon entering, Siddharth saw two people seated there. One of them was Suman—whom Siddharth recognized immediately—but the other person was a stranger to him; he appeared to be about the same age as Siddharth.
"Aunt Suman, I am deeply in love with your daughter. Please, give your consent to this match. You know how wealthy my family is, don't you? This alliance would benefit both our families. Once we’re married, we’ll invest ten crore rupees into your company. Your business is currently running at a loss of twenty crores; if things continue this way, your company is bound to go bankrupt."
"No. My daughter is still very young, and I have no intention of getting her married just yet. Besides, I already have someone in mind for her—someone I intend to marry her off to. So, you’d best leave this place right now."
Just then, Aunt Suman’s gaze fell upon Siddharth. Seeing him, she rose and walked over to where he stood. "Siddharth! You’re here. Go on upstairs and put away your luggage. Wendy, please show Siddharth to his room."
"Alright, Auntie. I’ll go put my things away upstairs." As he spoke, he began walking upstairs alongside the maid. On his way up, he glanced back at the young man he had seen earlier, only to find the guy glaring at him with intense anger.
However, Siddharth paid him no mind and continued on his way upstairs. He leaves.
"Sir, I’ve forgotten the key to your room. Please wait right here; I’ll go fetch it." Saying this, she heads downstairs.
Just then, Siddharth hears a scream coming from the room directly across from him. Moving with lightning speed, he rushes into the room and catches a girl—who was in the act of falling—by the waist, thereby saving her from hitting the floor.
The girl had kept her eyes shut, but when she realized she hadn't fallen after a moment or two, she opened her eyes—only to discover that someone was holding her.
However, when she looked down and saw the state she was in, she became absolutely furious, for she was wearing nothing but a bathrobe.
She quickly broke free from Siddharth’s grip and stepped away from him. "How did you get into my room?" she demanded. As she spoke, she grabbed a flowerpot sitting on a nearby table. Seeing this, Siddharth immediately bolted out of the room.
The girl chased after Siddharth, still clutching the flowerpot.
"Help! Help! Someone save me! She’s going to kill me! Help! You stay right there! Auntie Suman, save me—otherwise, she’s going to murder me!" Siddharth immediately ran downstairs and hid behind Suman. "Come out! I’m not done with you yet!" "Nidhi, what on earth is going on here?" "Mom, I was taking a bath when he barged into my room!" "Auntie Suman, I didn't do anything! This is completely unfair! I only saved her from falling, yet now she’s trying to kill *me*!"
"Nidhi, what is this? Look at the state you’re in! Go upstairs right this instant, get properly dressed, and then come back down."
Hearing Suman’s words, Nidhi glanced down at herself; she was indeed still wearing nothing but her bathrobe. She quickly turned and ran back upstairs.
"Auntie Suman, isn't there any way around this? I really don't want to go to college. Please, try to convince Mom."
"Siddharth, our company is currently facing some difficulties. I’m afraid that someone might try to use Nidhi as leverage to blackmail me."
"When it comes to Nidhi’s safety, you are the only person I can truly trust. You are skilled in various martial arts..." "You’ve won tournaments; surely you can protect Nidhi."
"Aunty Suman, I only practiced martial arts for one month during my childhood. I cannot protect Nidhi."
At that moment, Suman held her phone right up to Siddharth’s face. "How dare you refuse? If even a single hair on Nidhi’s head is harmed, I will break both your legs!"
"Alright, Mom. I will protect Nidhi."
Some time later, Nidhi and Siddharth were standing outside the villa when a sports car pulled up and came to a halt.
"Siddharth, I called Rahul to come pick me up. My mother and your mother are good friends, and we’ve been good friends ourselves. I actually feel sorry for you; I have absolutely no interest in you."
"Nidhi, you look absolutely beautiful today." "Thank you, Rahul. Come on, Nidhi, let's head to college quickly."
Nidhi quickly got into the car. Just as Siddharth stepped forward to get in as well, Rahul stopped him.
"Who do you think you are—some village stray? Nidhi is one of the most beautiful girls at IG College. How dare you try to make a move on her?"
"Which dog is barking over there?" Saying this, Siddharth roughly shoved Rahul's hand aside.
