Ch - 3: The Students' Mischief
"Who are you calling a dog? I am the Vice President of the Student Council!"
"Rahul, why are you wasting time talking to this village bumpkin? Come on, let's go quickly; we're getting late." Heeding Nidhi's words, Rahul walks over to his car. "You village bumpkin—do you even realize what this is? It's a sports car! It can go from 0 to 100 in just three seconds." Saying this, Rahul gets into the car.
He starts the engine and speeds away. Watching the car depart, Siddharth smiles faintly. "Kids these days..." With that remark, Siddharth takes off running at lightning speed.
In no time at all, Siddharth arrives at the college entrance. Just then, a security guard stops him. "Who are you? And how do you expect to get inside?"
"I am a student of this college. My name is Siddharth." The security guard checks his register. "Ah, so you *are* a student here."
The guard had barely finished speaking when Rahul's car pulled up and came to a halt right there. Rahul and Nidhi were stunned to see Siddharth standing there.
Rahul stepped out of the car and asked, "How did you get here so fast?" Siddharth retorted, "What business is it of yours how I got here?"
Rahul then walked over to the security guard and whispered in his ear, "Don't let him inside. I'll give you a handsome reward later."
Having said this, Rahul got back into his car and drove inside. Watching Rahul leave, Siddharth started to head toward the entrance. "You can't go inside. You're late."
"But those people just went inside, too! You didn't stop *them*." "I don't care about any of that. You are late."
Just then, another voice rang out: "It seems you won't let me inside either... since I'm late as well."
Hearing the voice, Siddharth turned around. Standing there was a beautiful young woman who appeared to be just a few years older than him.
"There are still ten minutes left before the class begins. Let him in."
"Teacher Priya... well... uh..."
"Are you going to refuse to let me in as well?"
"No, no! Teacher Priya, both of you may go inside."
Siddharth and Teacher Priya began walking toward the entrance. "Who are you? I've never seen you here before."
"Teacher, my name is Siddharth. We had some issues at home, which is why I was late."
"Oh, so *you* are Siddharth."
"Teacher, do you know me?"
"Come with me; I need to talk to you."
The two of them went up to the upper floor of the college building, where several chairs were set up for seating.
"Teacher..."
"Tell me the truth: what were you doing during the time you weren't attending school?"
*It seems the teacher knows everything about me.*
"Your mother told me that your father passed away when you were just a child. This has caused you to develop a psychological condition that makes you very shy; you don't like staying too far away from home, and you didn't want to come to school."
"What? Mom told you that? How did she...?" Siddharth asked in a barely audible whisper.
"Siddharth, don't worry. I, too, come from a single-parent family, so I understand your situation. Please don't worry—if you face any difficulties with your studies, I will be there to help you. I've been at this college..." "I may be your teacher, but outside of school, you should think of me as your friend."
"Teacher, you are very kind."
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the school, Nidhi, Rahul, and another boy were walking along. "Did Teacher Priya really bring him inside?"
At that moment, the boy spoke up: "Yes, I saw it with my own eyes."
"Rahul, that boy bothers me. You have to protect me from him."
"Nidhi, don't worry. If he tries to bother you again, I'll teach him a good lesson."
A short while later...
Teacher Priya and Siddharth were walking toward the classroom.
"Siddharth, since you've just arrived, you aren't familiar with your classmates yet. I'll introduce you to everyone."
Just then, that same boy approached them. "Teacher, who is this?"
"Siddharth, this is Rohan. He's a student in our class as well."
"Hello. I'm a member of the Student Council. If you run into any trouble at all, feel free to let me know."
"Thank you."
"Everyone in the class knows you've arrived, so they're all getting ready to welcome you. Come on, let's hurry!"
"It looks like there's no need for me to introduce you to anyone else. You should go with Rohan."
Heeding Teacher Priya's words, Siddharth walked off with Rohan. Teacher Priya followed close behind them. As they all approached the classroom, Siddharth sensed that someone was standing by the door, holding a bucket of water.
"Siddharth, you should go inside first." Hearing Rohan's suggestion, Siddharth smiled.
"No, you go in first."
"No, you go ahead; I'll follow right behind you."
At this, Siddharth said nothing more and walked toward the entrance. The moment he reached the doorway, everyone turned to stare at him. Just then, Siddharth used his powers to freeze the boy who was holding the bucket, and then he stepped inside.
"Rahul, why didn't he throw the water on him?"
"Nidhi, I have no idea."
Just then, Rohan also stepped into the classroom, and at that very moment, Siddharth unfroze the boy. With that, the boy threw all the water right onto Rohan.
"What have you done? Why did you throw water on me?"
Just then, their teacher, Priya, arrived. "Rohan, what on earth have you done to yourself? Look at the state you're in!"
"Teacher, I was feeling extremely hot, so I poured some water over myself."
"Alright, but take care of yourself; you might catch a cold." Saying this, Teacher Priya walked into the classroom.
At that moment, all the students gathered around Siddharth; they were holding a cake in their hands.
Then, Nidhi spoke up, "Siddharth, I feel truly sorry for what I did to you back at the house. That is why I’ve brought this cake for you. Come on, cut it quickly!"
Rahul then placed a hand on Siddharth's shoulder and said, "Brother Siddharth, what just happened here was merely a harmless prank. Nidhi brought this cake specifically for you—come on, cut it right now!"
"Oh? Is that so? Alright then." Saying this, Siddharth stepped forward to blow out the candles. Just then—"Hey, Rohan! You're all wet right now!"
"No, no, I'm fine. You go ahead and cut the cake."
"Rahul, tell you what—I'll give *you* this honor. *You* blow out the candles."
"No, no! All of this was done for *your* sake. It wouldn't look right if *I* were the one to cut the cake, so *you* should be the one to do it."
"Very well then." Saying this, Siddharth blew out the candles. Just as he did, Nidhi attempted to smash the cake into Siddharth's face. However, before the cake could make contact, Siddharth swiftly swapped places with Rahul. Consequently, Rahul ended up standing exactly where Siddharth had been, and the cake smashed right into *his* face instead.
"Haha! You made a big mistake by making an enemy out of me. Just look at what happened to you!"
Suddenly, a voice rang out: "Wow! This cake is absolutely delicious!" Hearing this voice, everyone turned to look in that direction—and every single one of their jaws dropped in sheer astonishment.
