Madison had been on the phone with his mother, now in her mid-seventies, for over an hour. It had been a while since they had spoken for that long. The Fishers had divorced two years after Matt's death. Madison and his father became increasingly distant after that. Fisher Snr remarried three years later and seemed content to focus on his second family while his mother got remarried five years after their divorce, to a widowed male nurse who was devoted to her.
