Episode three

Joe returned from school to meet his father in a surely mood- he’s looking for his briefcase. He lost his appetite on the verge.

Not too long Mrs Uzoma came out with the briefcase. Mr Uzoma muttered that or maybe he did and you’ve covering up for him” Joe unconsciously spoke for his mother. Don’t talk to her like that. He uttered. Mr Uzoma pick up on him furiously. Mrs. Uzoma pleaded for him. The father stormed out with parts words – you see all of them ….. Bad!

Joe was happy that good riddance to bad things. Not too long, saw the parents through window flirting with each other Martin came home after Mr. Uzoma had left.

With the intention to catch from with his brother which later culminated to going out to have some fun, they ended up at a dead end street with several uncompleted buildings where Joe witnesses the unexpected at the expense of his decency and good habits. Although, he’s been in bad mood throughout the day.

At the bar, Joe decided to behave like a coded man’ however, trying to cover up his nervousness that the ugly face and dread lock man has seen and capitalizes on to make Joe get drunk. While the men ensured that the brothers be soaked with alcohol to the extreme, there are w****s in the corner. The Rat – face man worsened the saturation when he introduces – Indian hemp. However, Martin has lost himself in the fun of the moments Joe just went not when the uniformed men invaded the spot. Joe escaped the raid of the uniformed men by a slim chance. After mid night Martin came home with confidence like a hero who returned from war. He went to where Joe ’s jeans is hang and pulled out a packed of m*******a which amazes Joe to worry. 

Precious alone in her sacred room writing .where she turn into a world of her own. there she nostalgic about her formal; school St Paul's .little diary where she scripted her mind .At school every male student find her attractive while students nick names her (a witch) because of the way she decides to appears in dealing with other .

Joe has eyed her several turns that she ignored him .he took bow step to approach her –yet she snobs him .Joe tried to attack her and she reacted in a way that made her exchange hot words with Joe .After which Mr van the physics teacher entered the class .In the class Joe answer the question brilliant that also poked Precious to jealousy.

Maris is one of the rude boy in school who saw Precious and tried to hold her ---- eventually they had harsh agreement that made them face off.Denis approached her later and advised her about having clash with Maris who is one of the unpleasant boys .as Denis and Precious passed by they come across Ruth and Joe the lover arguing in a hissing tone --- the duo have been getting on since class two .Denis wonder how they both get along for her she dislike Ruth a lot .Denis and Precious also shared a little talk about Joe .as they did talk and walked passed Joe stared at them while he joined John at the football pitch.

It’s not really raining as Denis Ekpo crossed the busy street home. She listed her duties at the moment. One of it is to pick up her youngest brother from school one way or the other she gets late.

Denis is a well behave girl that her parents put confidence in her. She is prompt to school, helps in the children department at church and do all her domestic duties nicely.

Lately, she’s been friendly with the minor looking at how she’s been made to her judgment she’s far from being beautiful. However, she concluded that “I wish I were Pretty, I’m plain Jane.

In the evening Precious visited Denis at home, met her and Mrs Ekpo in the kitchen where they had prepare a pot of stew still on fire. Precious is asked to watch the boiling meat and she picked the cover of the pot eagerly while Denis placed down the plates for meal to be served.

Moreover, Denis and Alice are birds of the same feathers in nature not too beautiful but they’re both gifted children. Denis possesses a good voice in singing and that makes her look beautiful.

Denis knew all about Joe and his family troubles. Joe sees Denis as his best girlfriend for keeping his secrets and always has been there for him most times when he’s in trouble times. Denis thought of Joe ’s escapades with girls nowadays and the too much interest that he seems to show towards Precious it calls for questioning. She’s perturbed about the whole new scenes, and tries to dissuade the thought when her younger brother cuts her short
