As I walked the dark hallways, I heard voices coming from my parents room.
They were arguing again..but this time it was about me. I gently put my ear against the door and tried to listen.
"She won't be here for much longer we can ask her owners for some money." My mother said.
"You should at least consider that she has been with us for the past 16 years, we can't just let her go...she is a rich heiress, and they are looking for her."
My father replied.
I was shocked and dumbfounded.."My parents" weren't my real parents..
What am I supposed to do now?..Noooo
I heard shuffling from inside but I was to shocked to move... and then I saw them both.
"Amber...uhm..wha-what are you doing here?" My father asked me..or can I still call him my father?
He is not even blood-related to me.. what's going on in my life right now?
"Honey, can you hear me?" My...the woman asked me. "I'm fine." I replied in hoarse voice. I looked up at them..and at that moment, I knew the truth and I had to get away from this imposters as soon as possible without hesitation or else the people who owns me will come looking.
As time went by, I forgot all about who my real parents were. I didn't even care about it, because as long as they could leave their daughter..they didn't matter anymore.
So I went to school as usual but after that afternoon..I became distant and cold. I no longer cared about friends or family and I did things that would satisfy me instead, my friends noticed and one by one they all left me to fend and care for myself...I really don't care.
I don't need them, and they don't need me, so what's the use of trying to hold onto useless things.
On a cold night, I received a weird mysterious phone call.
"Is this Miss Amber?" the weird voice asked "Yes, this is her. who is this?"
"This is the butler of the Blackstone family, you are the young miss and heiress to the family. I will be coming over tomorrow morning to fetch you. Goodnight."
On this night..my life changed drastically for the worse and the good.
