MEETING THE NEW

443 Words
Here I am, in front of the gate of the unknown, literally.  I'm beginning to think that maybe I was too quick to accept my parents' proposal to see the world with my older brother, after all, I'm only sixteen. The life of a young woman, counting school, friends and the tension of decisions about what to do with life in the future are enough. But I? It seems that I like to live under pressure, I abandoned my whole life, friends, school and flirtations to follow my brother in a new country and start from nothing.  If I has a need to describe the step by step of what I did, I arrived and unpacked my bags, I signed up for the new school with excitement, I dressed up in the most perfect way I could within the school dress code, I even went ahead to arrive early and take a tour. Now that I am in front of the gate, my legs are shaking. Thankfully it is only to finish the documentary part, I must look like an i***t here.  - Won't you come in? - Gregory asked, clearly enjoying my despair.  - Yes, I'm just admiring the architecture of the place ... - I replied.  - Of course ... of course ... Take your time. - He laughed, clearly knew it was the most outright lie.  Gregory could certainly be described as the best of the brothers, because without any reluctance he brought me along with him to start life from nothing. Sure, my parents were going to help us a little bit financially, but the part of taking responsibility for me now was his. Courageous, independent, intelligent and beautiful. Yes, my brother is very handsome! And I am not the only one who says this, but the looks and giggles of certain girls who left school and passed through the street. Tall, athletic build, gallant look, charming smile ... all framed by his long blond hair and well-shaped beard.  My eyes almost shone in awe and a small smile broke out without me noticing. Gregory, feeling my eyes on him, turned to me with the most charming smile, placing his hands on my head. - So, little Em? Have you decided if you are satisfied with the contemplation of school architecture? - I smiled. He always treated me like that, like a little child.  - AH! Yes, yes ... we can enter - As soon as I finished speaking and was already going through the gate, taking a deep breath and squeezing the envelope with my documents on my chest. A new stage in my life would begin now.
