DIANA’S POV
“Thank you,” I tell Kymon when the door leading into the garden opens.
“No biggie, Luna Diana,” he says, smiling at me. “In case Carden causes you any trouble and Kael isn’t around, you can come tell me.”
I feel Kymon’s eyes sweeping over my body. I try not to grimace at the level of disgust rising in me.
“Thank you, but I think I’m capable of protecting myself without you or Kael’s help,” I say, forcing a pleasant tone.
His gaze moves from my chest to my eyes. “Then I guess you wouldn’t be in this mess if that were true.”
I stare at him blankly, clenching my fists. Why am I still standing here listening to this? Suddenly, Kymon starts laughing and then playfully bumps my shoulder with his fist.
