Chapter 2: The Attack

1205 Words
Night work at the Daily Grind is slow. Lyra wipes the counter several times and falls to the floor. A soft sound broke the monotony and indicated a new customer. A tall figure wrapped in a dark robe stood on the counter. A calm and heavy energy can be seen on Lyra's skin. "Can I have two espressos with an extra shot?" His voice was quiet and calm. Lyra smiled, covering the shiver that ran down her spine. "That's lucky." He could not look at the picture while taking pictures. I had a strange feeling in my stomach. He was getting impatient as he was surrounded by shadows that seemed to scare him. "There you are," he said. His long dark fingers reached out and pushed her away as she took the glass. The problem was that he had never encountered it before. The combination of extreme heat and cold caused it to change. The world exploded with sound and light. Lyra blinked and sweat broke out. His head was shaking, and he had a knife in his mouth. It's not on the sidewalk yet. Instead, he was sunbathing on a green mass bathed in cold moonlight. Fear seized him. Frustrated and scared, he jumped up and looked around. The urban landscape disappeared, replaced by dense forests. The trees were tall, and the shadows were long and dark. He was stopped by a branch, turned around, and his heart slammed into his side. Here in the factory, the color is extracted from coffee. The hat disappeared to reveal his twisted dark face. But he is not human. Lyra wakes up to the sound of birds. The sun's rays scattered the leaves around his face. He sighed and was chased by the night's activities before returning. Creature, wilderness, change. It's not a dream. He stood up slowly and turned away because of the great pain in his back. He took off his shirt and sighed. The three profound spirits destroyed his completely healed body. It's not normal. He is not human. Fear gripped his throat. How did he get here? What is this creature? And what was the worst that happened to him? A noise from behind startled him. He slowly turned around, his heart sinking in his chest. A few meters away stood a large wolf with dark fur. His amber eyes, intelligent and alert, met hers. But this is no ordinary wolf. He seemed to recognize him as himself; a set of logical contradictions. It is a modified form of coffee. The wolf lowered his head and let out a small cry from his throat. Lyra extended her hand to him without hesitation. The wolf approached cautiously, sniffing with wet hands and nose. Surprisingly, that didn't happen. Instead, she took his hand in his, a very comforting gesture. A memory came to me; a broken image of a dream. The lone wolf standing next to you in the light forest is not an animal, but a friend. Is this a reminder of his transformation? Is this the next part? The wolf approached him again, this time with a request. He seems to have encouraged him to follow him. Lyra sighed and stood up, leaning against the wolf. As he did so, the circle shook him. The world shook, and he saw that it was not a forest, but an intelligent city. Then, just as quickly, the image faded. The wolf howled again and its amber eyes widened. Lyra had no idea where they were going and what was waiting for her in the forest. But Lyra approached the wolf with new fear and sadness. This time he didn't hesitate. Instead, he grabbed her hand, and his eyes filled with shock. A feeling of sadness came over him. Not just a wolf, it's part of him. Suddenly, a loud sound spread throughout the area. The wolf turned his head and his feathers flew. A tall figure with demonic red eyes emerged from the shadows. This creature was different from the one that killed him in the café. He was big and scary, his strong frame covered in muscles. Fear fills Lyra's veins. This creature is the main threat anyway. The wolf let out a high-pitched bark and lowered its head to protect Lyra. He was surprised by a sharp and sudden wave of truth. This wolf was trying to protect him. "Who are you?" Lyra whispered, her voice shaking. A red eye roars among the trees. Then he spoke with great surprise. His voice was loud and full of bad words. “You,” he cried, “are the one we've been waiting for. Before Lyra could finish her words, the creature moved. The wolf met him face to face, toothy and hungry. Their battles are a whirlwind of rage and howling. Lyra watched with a mixture of cold fear and amusement. Although the wolf is small, it is a strong warrior. However, other people are beginning to gain power over them. As the red-eyed beast attacked the wolf, his death rattled in the light. A howl came from the wolf's throat, and the sound shook Lyra's heart. The first scream came from him. Lyra didn't know what was happening, but she couldn't bear to see the wolf in pain. The world around him was dark and mixed with emotions: fear, anger, extreme anxiety. Then something changed in him. She had power flowing through her veins, a power she never knew she had. A sound seemed to shake the trees and Lyra turned. Fear and doubt are gone. She was powerful and dependent on the first intelligence that came from him. His muscles were covered with fur, his hunger was taken from his hands, from his senses. Stunned by his sudden transformation, the red-eyed monster looked up. Lyra lost track of time. She ushered in a new entity, angry and powerful. They fight, teeth and hunger do not pass through the night air. Surprised by his cruelty, he retreated. But there is so much more. During the battle, Lyra suffered many injuries and the pain was long-lasting. He continued on his way with the wolves howling and a new idea. When the creature appears outside of it, an invisible light comes from the sky. At that moment, the full moon, hiding behind the clouds, emerged to be bathed in lights. Red took a step back and a pained scream escaped his throat. He looked thin and weak under the sun. Lyra hid inside with all her strength. His fists dug into the creature's chest, leaving a large gash. He grunted in pain, then turned and ran into the darkness, missing the entire sword. Lyra collapses, tired, like a violent flood. The garden was silent, the only sounds being his heavy breathing and the rustle of leaves blowing in the wind. Okay, he turned into a wolf. He groaned; his fur covered in blood. A wave of guilt and protectiveness washed over him. He pulled me towards him, ignoring the pain in his body. The wolf poked his nose in and said, "Are you okay?" yell. The wolf looked at him, his eyes filled with emotions he couldn't understand. He stopped and stroked her cheek reassuringly.
