Ben walked up to his parents and hugged them both. He hadn't seen them in a while. One of the reasons being, he was avoiding them because they would lecture him about his responsibilities. They used to be on his a*s about cutting Suzie off, because she would be hurt when he found his mate, and by the looks of it, she was not the type of person to just let something go. He should have listened. He shouldn't have prolonged what they had going on, giving her hope that they would become something one day. She wouldn't have been such a pest. If his parents ever knew that he had found his mate and that he was the cause of what was happening between them, they would give him a scolding.
