*Chapter 8: A Glimpse of Love*
As the night wore on, Ava and Marcus's closeness grew. They stood in the garden, wrapped in each other's arms, feeling the warmth of the night and the music drifting from inside.
Ava looked up at Marcus, her eyes meeting his. She saw the affection in his gaze, the genuine care and concern.
"I feel like I'm getting to know you," Ava said, her voice barely above a whisper. "And I like what I see."
Marcus's smile grew, and he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers. This time, Ava was ready. She kissed him back, feeling a spark of passion and connection.
As they kissed, Ava felt like she was melting into his arms. She felt seen, heard, and understood.
When they finally pulled back, Ava's heart was racing. She looked up at Marcus, her eyes shining with happiness.
"I think I might be falling for you," Ava said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Marcus's gaze softened, and he smiled. "I'm already there," he said, his voice filled with emotion.
Ava's heart skipped a beat as she met his gaze. She saw the love in his eyes, the genuine affection and adoration.
Maybe, just maybe, this marriage was going to be more than she ever expected.
