*Chapter 11: The Unexpected Challenge*
As the days went by, Ava and Marcus's clinic began to take shape. They worked tirelessly to bring their vision to life, and Ava was thrilled to see the progress.
But just as they were about to break ground on the clinic, Ava received an unexpected visit from her estranged sister, Sophia.
"Ava, I've heard about the clinic," Sophia said, her voice cold. "I have to say, I'm surprised you're involved in something so...noble."
Ava's instincts told her that Sophia was up to something. "What do you want, Sophia?" she asked, her voice firm.
Sophia smiled, her eyes glinting with malice. "I want to know what's going on between you and Marcus," she said. "Are you using him for his wealth and status?"
Ava's anger flared up. "That's none of your business," she said. "And even if it was, I'd never use someone for their wealth."
Sophia raised an eyebrow. "Save it, Ava," she said. "I know you too well."
Marcus appeared behind Ava, his expression stern. "I think it's time for you to leave, Sophia," he said. "Ava doesn't need your negativity in her life."
Sophia's smile faltered, and for a moment, Ava saw a glimmer of hurt in her eyes. But then her mask slipped back into place. "Fine," she said. "But this isn't over, Ava."
As Sophia left, Ava felt a sense of unease. She knew that Sophia was up to something, and she wasn't sure what.
Marcus pulled her into his arms. "Don't worry about Sophia," he said. "She's just trying to stir up trouble."
But Ava knew that Sophia was capable of more than just trouble. She was capable of destruction.
