Tyrese If I thought Malia was hyperventilating from panic before, this was a whole other story. She hadn’t spoken since her grandmother announced her newest plan for the two of us, and in fact I was pretty sure she had stopped blinking as well. I squeezed her hand under the table, but she didn’t flinch. Listening in on her thoughts, her mind was a state of pure chaos, replaying every word her grandmother just said. We needed to get out of here. She needed time, and I needed to actually have a conversation with her about this instead of just throwing her in like what had happened with everything else in our relationship. “You know what? I think Lia and I should actually get going, we have an appointment to get to, you know for the wedding,” I spilled out the first lie I could think of. T
