I couldn’t believe I had just ruined our perfect moment by telling her that, but she needed to know. I said no more secrets and I meant that. I wanted her to know absolutely everything. I had to trust that she meant what she said, and that she’d really find a way to be okay with all of this. Her breathing had picked up in pace as she sat up on my bed.
