Chapter two

/Olivia Yes, it sounds wonderful, but to be honest, I'm having a lot of fun just standing here. I just managed to give him a slight nod, thankful that his body remained still. It's possible that he appreciated it just as much as I did. This turned out to be a really poor plan. It's time for me to move. Guys like him didn't treat women nicely. Why was it necessary for them to both smell and look so amazing? "Honey, you're going to have to make some room for me to maneuver around you." His warm breath warmed the hair that was covering my sensitive ear and caused it to become uncomfortable. I did my best to suppress a shudder as I managed to give him a polite nod and then hastily retreated to put my back against the car so that he could pass. As he circled around me while keeping my eyes with his penetrating look, our chests made light contact with one another. The warm chocolate brown with golden specks throughout it did not appear to be as amused as it once was. I took a deep breath in and then looked away. After he had moved away from me and was no longer in danger, I made the decision to observe him while he filled up my gas tank. I had to keep in mind that this was some kind of instruction. One that I required in an absolute emergency. "You are need to make payment initially. Have a credit card, or are you going to pay cash?" His voice had returned to its usual level. Please stop whispering seductively low things in my ear. Money. I'd completely lost track of the money. I nodded, then leaned into the driver's seat of the car and reached into my purse to retrieve my money. I reached down and pulled out my debit card, then stepped back up to give it to him. This time, his focus was on the bottom of my bottom. The whole idea of his looking at my rear end amused me, and it caused a grin to form on my face. A tad bit beyond reasonable. I responded by handing it to him as his eyes traveled back up my body and saying, "Here." He took the card while giving me a knowing wink. He was relishing the fact that I had caught him staring even though he knew I had seen him. This individual was a player, the kind of person a wise girl stays away from. But I wasn't even close to being that brilliant. I had already lost my virginity to a guy who was exactly like him. It had been in the flat that belonged to the guy's best friend. My ignorance prevented me from realizing that the woman he called his "best friend" was actually a girl who was head over heels in love with him. Things did not turn out nicely in the end. He was looking at my debit card in great detail. “Olivia. I like that name. It was made for you. It's seductive and a little bit mysterious." At that very moment, I became aware that I was completely unfamiliar with his name. "I appreciate that, but now you have an advantage over me. I am not familiar with your name. He smirked. “Clays.” Clays. That was very unusual. I was completely unfamiliar with the surname Clays. "I like it. It does," I said in response. It seemed as like he was going to say something else, but then his smile changed into a serious expression as he held the card up. "The very first thing you need to learn is how to pay for it." I was very attentive as he went through the process of using a gas pump and explained each step to me. The authoritative manner in which he held himself made it difficult to maintain focus on the task at hand. When he replaced the pump on the machine and tore off my tiny receipt, I felt a wave of melancholy wash over me. I really didn't want this moment to end, but unfortunately, I had to get back to my road journey. After so much time had passed, it was imperative that I focus on discovering who I am. I wasn't able to pull over just because a guy at a gas station caught my eye because I was already on my way. That is a ridiculous idea. "I can't thank you enough. I took my credit card and receipt and fumbled around while trying to stuff them into the pocket of my shorts. "The next stop won't be as difficult," I said. “Anytime. Is this where you plan to spend your vacation? “No. Simply passing through the area. I'm now on a road journey that will take me both nowhere and everywhere. The furrows between Clays' eyebrows deepened, and he gave me his whole attention for a time. “Really? That's an intriguing fact. Do you know where you will be going in the end?" I had no idea what was going on. I shrugged. “Nope. I suppose that once I locate it, I will recognize it." There was a brief moment of silence while we stood there. When Clays' hand went across and touched my arm, that was the cue for me to start moving. Have you thought about having dinner with me before getting back on the road? It won't be light outside for another hour. When are you going to find a place to stay for the night? Aren't you going to stop in a town soon? He did have a valid point. This was a lovely, coastal community with a sophisticated air about it. It appeared to be a risk-free alternative. However, I wasn't particularly concerned about my safety at all. I felt like I had finally arrived. I was acting recklessly and without considering the consequences. I found myself staring up at the tall, dark figure that was in front of me. He should not be trusted. Absolutely not the case. "Dinner sounds nice. If that's the case, I was hoping you could send me in the direction of the hotel that has the best rooms available for tonight.
