I woke up to the twins cuddling me, staring at me. They must have been watching me in my sleep. I looked up at them and smiled.
“I’m gonna pop by my place real quick and grab some clean clothes.”
“We can drive you—“
“I don’t need a ride,” I laughed. “There’s no one here I have to hide my magic from.”
I vanished, teleporting myself to my house. It looked so dingy and dirty compared to the beautiful home the Alphas lived in. I was happy I was able to use my magic. I used my powers to instantly shower and change, that way the twins wouldn’t get worried and come looking for me. My hair was freshly wet, making my golden wavy hair look dirty blond. I put on some makeup, just mascara and red lipstick. I was wearing knee high black socks, tall black leather boots, red high waisted short shorts, and a black lace bralette top. Most people thought I dressed like a stripper, but I think they just associate my look with being stripper clothes because I get called Dancer at work. I looked in the bathroom mirror, staring deeply at myself. Tracing my fingers over the twins sealed marks, noticing all the hickeys they’d left on my neck and shoulders, I realized how much my life was seriously about to change… Not only would I be on display for the entire pack, but I would be in charge for tending and caring to them all. I was to be the Luna of the Devour Wolf Pack, one of the largest and strongest wolf packs in the world. Was I really capable to do this?
When I appeared back in the twins bedroom they were dressed in basically the same thing they had been wearing in the club. They really did look like bikers from the 60s and it was so sexy. As soon as they seen me their eyes turned black. They must have liked my outfit. They wolf sped over to me and began to kiss my cheeks down to my neck where they had left their marks. That made my body tingle, my wolf clearly still desperate for their touch, but I brushed it off. I was more interested in talking than doing… other stuff.
“Have you wolfed out yet?” Dante asked. “Oh—well obviously not you’ve been with us since you turned 18–“
I giggled, “I’ve been ‘wolfing out’ since I was a kid.”
They looked at me confused as hell. “You really don’t know anything about witches… We can shape shift into whatever creature we want. I like to turn into a cat to sun bathe in trees, but I’ve turned into a wolf and many other things. I can be whatever I want.”
They looked at me in disbelief. “No, we don’t really know much about witches, just that they can do magic stuff but we didn’t know what kind of magic stuff.” Dimitri explained.
“So you can shape shift and teleport yourself… “
“I can do more than that.”
“Lets go down stairs. We’ll cook lunch for you while you tell us about it.”
Downstairs I sat across a kitchen island on a stool, watching the twins cook me breakfast food for lunch. I was honestly shocked by how kind they were to me, given the rumors I’d heard about them… But I guess it’s just different because I’m their mate. I took in a long deep breath, preparing myself for a long explanation and lots of question answering.
“So as you know, I can shape shift and teleport myself, but like I said there are more things that come with being a witch. I contain magic within myself but I can also draw it from the earth. Anything you can think of, if theres a spell for it I can do it. Other than the abilities I’ve already made mine, I can do other things using a public spell. Like, I can instantly shower myself, do my hair, simple stuff like that. But, the more I use my magic the more i run the risk of getting caught… “
“By who? We’re the Alphas and we
marked you as or Luna.” Dante said bluntly, as if that mattered.
“You don’t get it. I’ve heard the rumors; when your parents find out they’re gonna kill me.”
“They wouldn’t do that to us,” Dimitri said.
“You don’t know that.” I sighed. I’d hoped they were right, but I knew they weren’t.
We ate brunch, talking about our lives and childhoods and hopes in life. All they’d ever wanted was to fulfill their roles as the Alphas of our pack. Though, I could tell their underhanded goal was to exceed beyond what their parents had done. They wanted to be the best. It was obvious they were competitive.
“So, do you guys not know why your parents hate witches?” I asked simply.
Dante sighed, “I’ve heard that it has to do with some sort of war between the alpha witches and my mom’s brother, but thats just talk i heard from people who work for my parents. I’ve never asked them directly.”
“And I’ve never heard about any of it,” Dimitri explained. “Do you know any other witches?”
“My mom is a witch, but she’s the only one I know, and at this point in her life I don’t think she even knows shes a witch anymore. I’ve only ever seen her do magic once… When I was six I broke my leg, and she used magic to heal it for me because we couldn’t afford to go to a hospital. That was the day I found out I was part witch.”
“How did she get away with hiding it and living in the pack if shes not even part wolf?”
“I told you, witches can shape shift. After a few people seen her wolf out no one had any suspicions—not that anyone ever had any in the first place. Not many of the people who pay attention to my parents are right in the head if you know what I mean.”
“Right, well we’ll try and get more information about the witches war for you without alerting our parents.” Dante said, stroking my arm. He made me feel so reassured, like they would really protect me when it came between me and their parents.
I smiled at them, “so what should we do today?”
Dante and Dimitri both licked their lips and looked me up and down with a mischievous expression… I could definitely get used to this.
