Prologue

What happens if the life we live and know is not in accordance with what has become the foundation of our knowledge of this world?

What if there are other dimensions that overlap with our universe?

What would happen if "they" in that other dimension were able to jump into our dimension and unite themselves as a human society?

That is what's happening right now.

Initially, humanity was reluctant to accept "them" because of the disasters that they also brought when they entered our world through a magical portal. However, because of their abilities that are quite useful in social life, humans began to accept and categorize them as part of humanity.

However, there are also those who don't like the idea and distinguish them, even though they have similar aspects to humans, they are still not human. From there, the term "Demi-Human" was used for those from other dimensions.

However, not all of them were friendly, some even had a tendency to wreak havoc on the city. Those like that were called "Abyss". They bore no resemblance to humans, but rather leaned more towards animals. Although they are called Abyss, it is just a designation for the place they come from. As said earlier, they are beast-like creatures that possess similarities and characteristics of an animal, yet different on somewhat of their appearance.

There are those that look like tigers but have long jagged fangs visible from their mouths, marine animals but have limbs that allow them to walk on land, birds the size of cars, and many more.

Not only that, there are even those that resemble humans and were thought to be a new sub-race, but it turns out that they have no conscience like other demi-human races. They gave humans a new fear due to the things they did, something very terrible.

Therefore, humanity is reluctant to accept new sub-races unless they really want to be part of the demi-humans. In fact, there are many countries that have rules about banning demi-humans on their land, because of the severity of the incident at that time.

All in all, if there's a down-side, there's bound to be a good one. The presence of demi-humans brings something impossible to this world. Mysterious energy that makes humans able to have powers beyond human reason, even to the point of making the civilization of the world flourish. From simple electronics that can sustain for years without losing power, a massive vertical capable aircraft with powerful engine but zero gas emission, a city so modern thats able to sustain itself for decades to come.

The world might have changed drastically, but not all people can accept that. There will always be individuals who want to change things back to the way they were, whether we like it or not.
