Chapter 02 | Decisions

"Mr. Wolfe." "It's fine, we just need to go to the headquarters," Wolfe replied. After that, Wolfe looked around and asked, "Sergei, where is our pick-up location?" "100 metres west, approximately 5 minutes away," Sergei replied. Wolfe looked towards the window and narrowed his eyes, like he was focusing on something. "3? No, there are five, two are from Sergei's direction," Wolfe thought as he looked around. "Sergei is also preparing to bring Jyu, the chance of us getting out is quite big, but those outside are also quite strong, I can't face the three of them alone." he continued thinking. "Sergei, let's take a little detour, through the back," Wolfe explained. "Mr. Wolfe? Ah. I see," Sergei replied without any hesitation. Sergei just looked at Wolfe and in an instant his eyes lit up. "Even though he's just been promoted to my personal aide, he's quick at reading situations," Wolfe thought. He then explained his plan to Sergei, "Alright if you've understood, your main task this time is Jyu's safety, whatever happens don't harm Jyu, we'll meet back at the pick-up point." Wolfe then broke out of the small hut and from Sergei's place came a loud banging sound. "Mr. Wolfe. May you return safely!" said Sergei as he saluted Wolfe before rushing out very quickly as well, carrying the unconscious Jyu. It seemed very quiet after he came out and the loud booms that had been heard in the same direction changed direction every second, as if they were moving very fast. It didn't take long, however, before someone caught up with Sergei quickly. Coloured rays of light flew around Sergei's path, and every time they hit any surface, they exploded as if it were a bomb. Of the many rays of light that shot out, none hit Sergei at all, thanks to his ability to dodge and his speed in running. They approached a large airship shaped like a balcony bird with jet turbines on its wings that made it fly low and slow only a few metres above the trees surrounding the place. The rear door of the aircraft began to open and a man stood up and shouted, "HURRY!" Sergei jumped with all his might to reach the back door of the aircraft. However, the continuous barrage of light beams made him lose momentum a little. Seeing that Sergei wasn't going to make it, the man who had been standing raised his hand as if he was lifting something off the ground, and instantly the ground beneath Sergei's feet jumped up as if it were a foothold for him. "SERGEI!" the man's shout caused Sergei to avert his eyes in the middle of his leap, and after seeing the light shot towards him. Sergei thoughtlessly tried to deflect them all using his arm that wasn't holding Jyu, it emitted a blue aura and managed to reverse the direction of the shots of light that were coming at him. Just like before, the ground that came into direct contact with the redirected light instantly exploded. "Serge—," Sergei interrupted his partner and called out, "Take him! I'll take care of them." Sergei handed the sleeping Jyu to his helper, and they entered the interior of the aircraft. And what followed was one explosion after another until the aircraft was safe to gain altitude.
