Siena, still smiling softly, replied, “He had an urgent meeting. He went straight to the office.”
Soraya nodded, though the unease in her chest refused to fade. “Are you hungry?” she asked gently.
Siena nodded hesitantly.
Soraya smiled. “Go rest in your room. I’ll send something for you to eat.”
Siena grinned. “You’re the best, Mom,” she said, kissing Soraya’s cheek with excitement before striding upstairs to her bedroom.
Soraya giggled softly, shaking her head. “Silly girl,” she murmured as she watched her daughter-in-law disappear into the hallway.
Siena stepped into her bedroom and closed the door behind her. Her thoughts immediately drifted to her husband.Her heart — and her body — still craved him, even though it had been only a few hours since he’d been away from her.
