Mimi’s POV
Mimi: Marissa, hey, I’m running a bit late. I’ll be there as soon as I can.
Marissa: No problem, Jimmy is here, I can have him start the warmup for the class up for you if you want.
Mimi: That would be awesome, we are about 30 minutes away.
Marissa: Are you coming back via the big limo or is your “hubby” driving you.
Mimi: My “hubby” is driving me today.
I avoid looking next to me because I can feel his smirk at my answer. His hand catches my free one and he brings it to his lips.
Marissa: You so have to tell me everything. Gotta go, will get Jimmy in the class for you.
Mimi: I will, I promise. See you soon.
Sam pulls up in front of the gym about 35 minutes later. He hops out the driver’s side and rushes to open my door for me before I can, reaching his hand in to help me out. Then he ignores the looks everyone is giving us as he presses me against the car and leans down kissing me with real passion and fire.
Sam: I’ll be here to drive you home at 6pm, ok?
Mimi: Yes, see you then, husband of mine.
I couldn’t help teasing him back as I moved to pass him and head inside. His hand snakes out and gives me a quick pat on my butt, while his laughter fills my ears. I slip inside and quickly head to my class, keeping my gaze from meeting Marissa’s. I know my cheeks are bright red from what happened outside and can’t risk her seeing how much I enjoyed it reflecting in my eyes. I call over my shoulder as I pass the reception area on my way to the classroom.
Mimi: I promise, I will tell you everything later, Marissa.
Jimmy, Marissa’s boyfriend, was starting the class warm-up and it appeared he had been to enough that he knew the routine exactly. I watched him for a few minutes and he was doing a great job. After a quick apology and thanking Jimmy for stepping in to help, I took over and completed the class. When we were done I announced that I was going to have to step down in a bit, due to my pregnancy, and I told them I would personally train my replacement. Everyone congratulated me and most said it was a smart move even early on while expecting not to stress my body out like we do in class. I love these guys but they all think the same, pregnant women are fragile and delicate flowers who can’t handle real exercise. Sam would love meeting them since they all are Neanderthals by nature. I smile and nod then go to find Jimmy.
Mimi: Jimmy, I can’t thank you enough for stepping in like that and doing the class warm-up. You are really good.
Jimmy: It was no problem, I really enjoyed it. And congrats on the baby, when are you due?
Mimi: Thanks. I’m only like a month along, my first pre-natal appointment is on Tuesday at 10am, and I don’t have a class scheduled until 2pm that day. I was watching you during class, and you are very good. I know I’ve seen you around, how long are you going to be able to stay today?
Jimmy: I’m here all day if you need me to be. I took the rest of the week off for vacation and I’m really hoping I can tell them “see ya later” instead of going back. I hate having to sit in one spot for 8 hours a day.
Mimi: I feel you there. Great, why don’t you hang with Marissa for about 20 minutes and I will get the paperwork together so we can start paying you today for your time. Then we can go into a spare class room and spar for a bit so I can see what you’re capable of.
Jimmy: Sounds like a plan, just let me know when you are ready. Should I go easy since you’re having a baby?
You shake your head no, and head to the office to get the new hire packet together and print off a copy of next month’s class schedule along with the new one made for this week and next. While there waiting for everything to finish printing you take a quick look at the business books and compare them to the online banking statement for last month. Horrified you noticed that there was missing money from the accounts that happened during Mr. Jacobs’ reign of terror.
