Lost and Found
The sound of Billy’s cell phone ringing startled the trio awake from the spell of Harper’s amazing confession.
“Hello,” Billy answered.
“Yes, sir…really? You mean that?...You’re kidding…I’m relieved. We’re all relieved…I will…and thank you.”
“What’s that?” Zooey asked.
“Andie.” He shook his head, his body limp. “She walked into the sheriff’s office this afternoon, mentioned that she understood that someone reported her missing. She wanted to let them know that she wasn’t missing; in fact, perfectly safe and fine.”
“So she’s all right, no kidnapping, no abduction, no rape…” Zooey asked.
“I guess not. In fact, I suppose we’ll be seeing her shortly. The Sheriff said she was on her way back home…”
