POV: Florence "Killian?" I looked back at River, one eyebrow arched. "You brought him to my apartment? Seriously?" "Yeah. He was with me when Brielyn called saying you weren't picking up your damn phone." River crossed his arms over his chest, like that explained everything, like I owed him a full itinerary of my life. I rolled my eyes hard enough to strain something and disappeared into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me a little harder than necessary. A headache was already blooming behind my temples, the slow, throbbing kind that came from too many questions I had zero interest in answering. Couldn't exactly get mad at River without explaining why I'd ghosted my phone for half the night, and that conversation? Not happening. Not with him. Not with anyone breathing air on this
