Chapter 15

1011 Words
Sylvia's POV I have tried, but I can't, the pain is too much for me. I cannot bear it. Why does it always have to be me? I have tossed and turned in bed for hours now, not a single ounce of sleep. Why did Lucian’s words affect me this way? Maybe it's because I didn't expect this from him. His words keep ringing in my mind on repeat. Him calling me an Omega hurt even more, I thought that he saw me differently but it wasn't the case. The only thing that can perhaps help me calm down is fresh air. I decide to walk outside under the moonlight, possibly it will help. I wish I had a wolf, that would have been wonderful. I would have gone on a run, but a walk will be fine for now. I hope she surfaces soon though, if ever. A sudden noise interrupts my thoughts. I look around me and I find myself in a forest, how I got here I don't know. I must have been so absent-minded. The moonlight seems to be obstructed due to the tall trees. I really have to go back now. The only problem is that I don't know where I am and the direction back. I really screwed up. Lucian screwed my mind up. I wonder why he has this effect on me. I hear the noise again, now more clearly and nearer. I turn to look at where the noise is coming from, but I see nothing. Fear creeps me, suddenly I feel like someone is behind these tall trees looking at me. A rattle of some leaves and twigs is heard, the person or thing is coming towards me now, the shuffling is growing nearer. I can even hear some low growling, but it doesn't sound like a wolf. It's definitely something else. Maybe it’s Lucian, but why would he even follow me? he is disgusted by me. I should stop dreaming. I turn towards the opposite direction, I run as fast as my legs can carry me. I don't want to wait and find out what will happen. I don't have a wolf, so I cannot mind link anyone, which only means I am by myself. If I wait, then I die. I don't want that. As I am running, the shuffling and low growls follow me, I can tell the creature is faster than me. I am growing weak, my throat and muscles are burning, but the adrenaline is keeping me going. Suddenly something trips me making me fall, I roll on the ground before stopping. My heart beats so fast as I realize that I am facing my death now. I get on my bu** slowly, as beats of sweat and shivers rush through my body. I regret coming here, I wish I had gone to the gym instead. I see a huge form walking towards me, I can see the bright yellow eyes staring at me as it moves towards me. I cannot see vividly due to lack of my wolf. If I did then I would have sensed the danger long ago. The growls are slow but so terrifying. I try to get up so that I can run, but my knee hurts so badly. I rest my weight in my hands and push myself backwards. Each movement I take, the creature takes double. I push myself further, but my movement is cut short when my back lands on a tree back, marking the end of my struggle. I now have nowhere to run to. A creature I can't see properly is in front of me with its white teeth outside and his mouth inches from my face. Its hot breath fans my face as its rough tongue licks my cheek. It growls excitedly. Oh no I am dead today. Moon goddess, please don't let me die. I close my eyes as I say the prayer. I just wish for a miracle to happen. But I know nothing is going to save me today. I am not that lucky. Suddenly I hear something cracking and in a short while the noise and the creature's noise is gone. Did moon goddess hear my prayers? I open my eyes slowly one eye at a time just to make sure. I gasp as I see something different in font of me. I see a really tall man, maybe he isn't that tall, maybe it's because I am on the ground looking up. I can tell he is a man because of the dangling thingy between his legs. Did that huge creature turn into this thin guy. It's unbelievable. “Well, believe it.” The guys say to me with the most cold voice I have ever heard. My eyes widen to the realization that he just answered what was in my mind. Did he just read my mind? “Yap.” He answers arrogantly. I don't know where I get the strength, but I get off the ground and start running away from him. There is an evil aura coming out of him. Whatever he is, it isn't good. I bump into something cold and stumble, but before I can fall down. The same cold thing catches me. “Be careful next time.” The same cold voice says. How come, I left him back there? How is he here? He pulls me towards him, and with one swift move, I am on his shoulders, placed like a log. He sure has strength for a thin guy like him. But what does he want with me? “Put me down now.” I order. “Sorry, but no.” He answers with the same voice. “I am taking you home.” He adds. “Home? I don't have a home, please. You are mistaking me for another…” before I can finish, something knocks both of us down. Each one of us falls in a different direction. I bump my head so hard on a rock and everything goes blank.
