TAMARA For the next three weeks after the hospital, I did not hear from Isaiah. He did not send any more flowers either. Life became swallowed up with work and wedding activities, and I convinced myself I had no time to think about him. ‘Out of sight, out of mind,’ I told myself. Oh, how I wished that had been true. The truth was, I thought of him every second of every day. He haunted my dreams, crept into my waking thoughts, and sometimes, I even caught myself imagining strangers as him, especially at the hospital. Noel and I had reconciled, and he was sweeter than ever. He did not send me flowers or let me wear whatever I wanted, but at least he gave me control over the wedding preparations. Sometimes he offered his opinions, though “offered” was just a polite way of saying “ordered.
