The judge adjusted his glasses and looked down at the files before him. The jury members exchanged one final look among themselves. I could hear my own heartbeat in my ears.
Sara stood in the dock, pale but still trying to hold on to what little dignity she had left. Her father, Alpha Jose of Midwest, stood behind his legal team, his face hard like stone.
The judge began. “Having reviewed the evidence presented before this court, including video footage, witness testimonies, financial records, and forensic reports, this court finds the defendant, Lady Sara St. Jose, guilty beyond reasonable doubt.” A wave of murmurs spread across the hall. “Guilty of the murder of Alpha Magmus of Purple River Pack.
