Elena’s POV I didn’t know how long I had slept when I woke up. My head was thick and foggy, the silence around me heavy, and for a moment, I didn’t even know where I was. Gradually, my senses sharpened, and I noticed the cabin—the wooden ceiling, the simple, rustic furniture, the thick greenery visible through the window. We were still deep in the forest. I tried to move, and pain shot through every inch of my body. My bones ached, stiff and heavy, like I’d been crushed. I noticed I wasn’t wearing any clothes under the blanket. Hesitantly, I pulled it away and the sight of red marks, scratches, and bruises made me let out a shaky sigh. I pulled the blanket over me again, trying to hide from my own body. Just as I was trying to sink back into the bed, the door creaked open. Eric
