The Lady Vs. The Genius
(Battle of Campus Elites)
Ep. IV: Introduction To War
Yurime's POV
[Hachiban University]
After the school physician had checked me, we returned to our homeroom. There were no physical injuries, leaving Seiko out of legal trouble. I felt less terrified after the doctor had talked to me. My life being threatened is not new to me. It refreshes the memory of an old wound that never got the chance to heal.
I took a deep breath as we walked closer to the door. This classroom has never been too scary to enter. Thankfully, Seiichan is there to open it for me. All eyes are on us again as we enter.
"Look who's here! You're still alive, Hanazaki!" The evil twin said.
"Seiko," Seiichan warned his brother.
"Alright. I'll stop," Seiko put his hands in the air with a grin on his face.
The bell ended the one-hour lunch we had, and the teacher entered. It is Mr. Hasegawa. He greeted as usual, then went straight to the table to put his bag down. He writes on the board like yesterday.
And now, I understand how Mr. Hasegawa feels. No one's going to listen, so he just writes the pointers since it is his job. I hate to see this—I would cry because of seeing him like this. No one deserves to be treated the way these pesky teenagers treat our teachers.
I kept on copying what was written on the board. The room is filled with the noise of pens touching the paper and flipping pages with some erasers moving back and forth. After Mr. Hasegawa finished writing, he took his bag from the desk again.
"Study the pointers I gave you. The division office will be sending out long quizzes next week. Thank you." our teacher bows.
"Boo!" The Redster friend of Seiko shouted, and people rose to agree.
I turn my head to look at their reaction. Among them, Seiichan is the only one who doesn't agree by shaking his head—but why is he not saying anything? I can see the sadness these people have caused Mr. Hasegawa. That's it. I can't take this anymore. Right now, I can feel blood rushing, and it's heating up my face.
The sound of my chair resounded when I stood up.
"Don't leave yet, Mr. Hasegawa!"—He paused with a puzzled look on his face. I face the rest of the class, "Is that all you guys got, huh? Intimidating others because you can afford their time and skills?" I began.
Everyone frowned at me and looked at each other.
Someone decided to break the silence, "Can you snap out of your delusion, loser?" the girl who called me into the trap said, "The role heroine doesn't suit you, get it?"
"Shut up, dvmda$$!" the people burst into laughter, "I'm not only talking to you. I'm talking to everyone, so b1tch, Silencio por favór," I said, "You guys don't care about others' feelings because you never felt how it feels to be treated like trash. Because if you do, you won't do this to him. Or to other people like what you do to Silverliners."
The maniac bald guy snorted.
"You do realize that you are talking nonsense, do you?" he said to me while gagging.
"And you don't realize that your existence doesn't make sense, do you?" I responded that everyone laughed again, "Stop disrespecting teachers that aren't Ms. Horida. It's not fair!"
Mr. Hasegawa whispered to me, "Hanazaki, it's ok."
"It's not ok, Mr. Hasegawa. They can't treat you this way because they don't own you. Honestly? You worked hard to get your teaching license, and you're giving the quality education you're being paid for. Mr. Hasegawa, you don't need to endure this kind of treatment. If Mrs. Hachiban sees this, she will do the same thing, and all of you will be sanctioned, especially you!" I pointed my finger at Seiko, "You, Mr. Evil Genius! And Seiichi, why are you not saying anything?"
Seiichan stands up from his chair.
"You're right, Yurime," Seiichan said. "And Mr. Hasegawa, I apologize on behalf of this class. I failed as the directress' representative here." Then he turned his head to others, "I don't see this every day because I have to take care of other businesses, but you need to stop this cruelty. You guys need to stop bullying. If any of you disrespect any teacher in this school, I will make sure to talk to your parents, and it will definitely reflect on your records here. And I mean EVERYBODY."
Everyone shut their butts.
"Both of you are so ridiculous!" Seiko said in an angry-dead tone and walked out of the room, followed by one of his homeboys.
I'm surprised that Ara and Uno didn't leave the class.
"Can you start with the real lecture, Sir Hasegawa?" Seiichan asked.

Seiko's POV
[Hachiban University: Student Lounge]
Only this big red sofa eases my anger. That little piece of crap is really getting on my nerves.
"That girl has Seiichan on her side, which is not good," I reminded Jin.
"They've just met, bro. You can still get Seiichan on your side," he suggests as he, too, takes another sip from the soda can he got from the vending machine beside us.
"I know, but we all know that my brother is not into having fun. He acts so maturely when he's not," sighed. "At the top of that. It's a mystery how they become so close in an instant."
"Hmm... Maybe because she's your brother's ideal girl," he said.
The deadpan silence occurred in this lounge. Jin noticed that I was frozen.
Jin laughed so hard, "Bro, I'm just kidding. She looked so average like you know what I mean. Although, if you look at her, especially her eyes, there's something different about it. And her hair looks unnatural on so many levels. Aside from that, her physique doesn't fit her style. She's odd-looking. So weird."
I buffer a bit, thinking about what that bedbug looks like. And Jin has a point. I can recall looking into that crappy girl's eyes when I was trying to scare the hell out of her. Her eyes look like a doll's eyes.
"She is wearing contact lenses," I mumbled.
"Oh really? Impaired vision, you think?" he asked.
"No. Cosmetics. The lens doesn't seem to have weight for impaired vision, but of course, I'm not sure," I concluded. "But really, I just want to think of a different plan to make that little rascal drop out of this school," I stated.
This is the first time that I really bother to plan to kick out such annoyance.
The announcement bell rang:
"Calling the attention of the following students: Watanabe, Jin, Yoshida Uno, Uehara Ara, and Hachiban Seiko. Please proceed to the director's office after your class. Again, the following students are Watanabe, Jin, Yoshida Uno, Uehara Ara, and Hachiban Seiko. Please proceed to the director's office after your class. Thank you."
Jin and I exchanged looks.
We let the bell ring first before going to my mom's office. That girl is such a pain in this ass. On our way to the office, Jin and I met Uno and Ara halfway. We didn't say a word, but our faces were saying that this was ridiculous.
We entered Mom's office, and Dad was also there. Of course, we were greeted before we entered.
"Can someone tell me how long you have been dismissing other teachers' classes?" Mom started.
My mother is still calm, and it's dangerous because her next tone will be unpredictable when she's quiet.
"From when we're in 4th grade, Directress." Uno understatedly responded promptly.
"Six years," mom said. "With whose permission? No one has given you permission! You don't know the damage this incident will cost our school," she groaned in anger. "These kids were unbelievable!"
"As your punishment, you are all coming to detention an hour after class. You miss it, your parents will be called, and we will talk about it," Dad announced.
"What has gotten to you people? Answer me!" Mom got furious.
"The other hired teachers are boring except for Aunt Midori, and also, they are slow-paced and do not treat the class like someone sharp. They are babying kids, which isn't good. I hate them," I answered.
Mom walked closer to me.
"Because you hate them?!" Mom is now shaking her head with face-palm, "Is that what we told you to do when you hate what's happening? I don't know what the royal family is going to say about this when they find out that their princess is marrying an a$$h0l3 brat."
"Mom?" I complained, "Don't bring that into this."
She sighed and seated herself on her chair, "Of course, honey. It's a shame for this family and Lily Anne's."
I don't want Lily Anne to withdraw from the betrothal. That's the only thing I'm looking forward to. I want to be a part of the royal family.
"I will personally monitor the detention," Dad added.
None of my friends are happy about this.
"Mom?" Seiichi entered the room with the bed bug.
"Seiichan, Ms. Hanazaki. Please come in," Mom responded to him. "Ara, Uno, Jin, and Seiko, you are all dismissed," mom told us.
I don't get upset when she's talking nicely to Seiichan when she's scolding me, but this time feels a little out of the norm. So I took my ass out of this room, and the rest followed me. I headed back to the student lounge, where we usually hang out... But there's something that got me thinking—Hanazaki. I've said that name numerous times now, but I think she's not the first Hanazaki I've heard of.
I need to improve at familiarizing new faces, so I can't remember. If Hanazaki thinks I'm going to let this one pass, she better think again and start counting her lucky stars before it runs out.
"She's not afraid of the GD Jail, so I don't know how else we can make her drop out," Jin said.
"I also tried creeping her out by doing my playboy act, but it didn't avail," Uno commented.
"It never worked on me, so don't think it's inevitable, Uno," Ara said. "You should just talk to her up close, Seiko. Bribe her, use false life threats on one of her friends or family members... I don't care! I want her out of here."
"Of course! Hanazaki has a sister here. Hanazaki Chiyo: a member of the history club. I heard that they were sponsored by the government because of their father's job," Jin said.
"Great idea, Jin!" Ara commended, "I like that idea. So tomorrow, we will get the sister by Seikun dressed up as Seiichan."
My ears heard a bang on that phrase, "It's not a good idea," I said.
"It is a good idea, Seikun. When you got the sister, grab that Hanazaki girl. Ask her to leave the school, or her dear sister's life will be over," Ara continued.
