The Lady Versus The Genius (Battle Of Campus Elites) Ep. XLVI: The Scroll     Seikun's POV   The royal lesson officially began, and so I will have to stop going to school. This is way more important than sitting-in in a class that I finished already. It also means that Lily Anne and I will not be classmates anymore. I am trying to finish off the exercise that was given by the tutor. Finally, something worthy of my time for studying.   The ticking of the clock becomes louder for me now. It's something new for me.         "We're done for today, your highness." The tutor said. He looks like something in Kazehaya's age. The tutor might be the duke's teacher before. "Thank you so much for today," I pay my respect to the tutor. "You are so much ahead, your grace. You will be able to get to the palace in no time. Please excuse me for now." The tutor bowed and took his book.   The tutor will be staying with us until it's Lily Anne's turn. In a few moments, the new house helper came running to my study room.         "Monsieur!" the part-timer pants. "CALM DOWN," I enunciated over her over-reaction, "What is it?" I responded. "The duchess is here," the girl smiled-- Weird kid. "Alright. Make sure that the duchess will not go here," I go back to writing the exercise that was left. "And why I shouldn't go here?" Lily Anne entered the room in her uniform and school bag.   I guess it's too late in posting signage for 'DO NOT DISTURB,' then…   "Because I am studying the law of Cambridge. So, if you can spare me some time to study?" I told Lily Anne.   Instead of going out of the room like she typically does. Lily Anne checks on the paper that I have on my table and reads each of them.   "You have a nice penmanship for a guy." She comments. "I know." I stopped writing to glare at her.   Lily Anne is not paying attention to me. So, I stand up and take the paper from her.         "Don't be mad, ok?" she chuckles, "I heard from mom and dad that you are about to go to the palace." "You spoke to your parents?" I asked. "You silly! Your mom and dad. They ask me to address them that way." She responded. "I'm not questioning it." I go back to my seat, "I just want to make sure that I got it right. And besides, there's no need to be embarrassed in calling your in-laws as mom and dad." Lily Anne takes the seat of the tutor's earlier, which is in front of my table, "You will leave me. Aren't you?" She mumbles while looking up at the ceiling.   It's funny that she looks sad that I am going to Kensington Palace ahead of her.         "Don't tell me that you will be-" "I would never ever miss you." She cut me off by enunciating it. "Ok. You said so." I laid back. "But, I want to go with you." She gives me puppy eyes, "I want to be with my momma and papa." She went on. "I'll hug them for you instead," I told her.   She responds to me with audible heavy breathing, and it's very annoying.   "I would also suggest to the parliamentary to let you guys use what we call technology so you can communicate more often. Not through letters. Letters are outdated." I added. "Go ahead." She stood up and left the room.   The new house helper followed her along. Trying to understand the female mind is energy-draining and time-consuming. I have to spend two lifetimes to deeply understand how their brain and logic works.   I saw the letter on the table which came from the palace. I don't know why Lily Anne did not notice this. I picked it up and read. It is a scroll wrapped in a ribbon. It shows how pleased they are to have me in the palace when summer ends here, which approximately will be the same in their country.   I stopped writing and put the activity sheet in a folder. Now that I am going off, I will probably miss this blondie. Imagine having to wait for the moment that you will finally be together, and then boom! All gone. You need to separate ways again. My family would take her in, and for sure- she will be fine, but not me. I would miss her even before leaving her.   I have to shake my head off; these unhealthy thoughts are getting into my nerves. We cannot be emotional right now; it will hinder us from doing the right thing.   Later that night, I spent my time reading the first book I was given to review. As usual, I'm on the faux balcony of our bedroom. The wind is blowing just right, unlike the past few humid nights.   "Are you not sleeping yet?" Lily Anne cannot stand being quiet. "Not yet, sweetie." I try to annoy her.   But she surprisingly let that pass. I don't know why so? Then, she walks to me and climbs up beside me. She's very peculiar now.   "I'm jealous of you." She said. "Huh?" "You know what I mean. I miss my parents so much, but I can't go because I'm not the genius who finish school way ahead of everyone else." She plays with the ribbon on her collar, "Will you miss me?" she asked.   Why the?   Like what the fvck is up?!   "Of course you wouldn't." she went on.       "Hey, it's not good that you are asking if people will miss you or not. You're suggesting them to miss you, you know?" I told her.   She gave me a sigh, then she looked down. She can't imagine how irritating it is for me.   "Hey!" I called her and put down the book, "Why are you acting like that?" I asked her.   She looks up at me again. Very silent, and she's leaning closer and closer to my face. Paradoxically, I'm moving away until my back is leaning against the wall. I thought that this blondie said that we were not going to make out?   She carried on then… she closed her eyes. My palms were sweating already.   Gosh. I haven't brushed my teeth just yet. I hope Lily Anne doesn't mind.   •••>>>OYurime's POV   Whatever the hell this genius is dreaming about is none of my business. But this p3rv3rt is dreaming of something that I really don't like as he is calling me while he is asleep on the couch while hugging the throw pillow. I picked up the pad on the floor and hit him in the head with full force.   "WAKE UP, P3RV3RT!" I screamed on his face.   Seiko overturned off the couch when he opened his eyes. It created a thunderous noise.   "What the—" he got up very quickly. "You are having a nightmare!" I responded. "It was not a nightmare." He looks so dizzy and has a bit of a headache. "You were moaning like you cannot breathe!" I insisted.   Seikun looks at me with disbelief in his drowsy eyes.   "What are you fantasizing about, huh? It must be lewd. Urgh!" I asked him, covering myself with the throw pillow. "It's just a random dream for reading too much," he laid back and then reclined on the couch, "what time is it?" "Time to go to bed. It's 10 in the evening." I responded.   The genius guy stood up and collected himself together to go out. He hasn't had his dinner just yet because he slept before the dinner was ready. I moved on and cleared up my study table to put my things in my schoolbag. Seikun's desk in this room has always been evident since he has an office in the attic. It's an unusual feeling that he is not going to school anymore. I wish I could do the same. Right after fixing my things, I tried feeling the bed to sleep.   The comfort of this bed has a pinch of gloomy vibe on it tonight. I stand up and march out of the room. I headed to the balcony, where the air moved around soft and liberated. I sat on the egg couch. I feel fancy here. I closed my eyes and felt the air touch my face. Its breeze tells me that summer is almost over; it means summer vacation is here. Not only that, the summer festival is approaching.   "If you're sleepy, go to our room already." Seikun stands beside the couch. "That's the thing, I can't sleep," I responded. "Sleep deprivation leads to poor health, which is bad for the duchess." Lectures Seikun. "Have you ever been on a date?" I asked. Just curious. He giggled then sat beside me, "Why did you ask? I mean, it's the first time you asked about my whereabouts." "Well, am I not entitled to ask you that?" I am going to puke asking him. "Mrs. Hachiban has every entitlement." He chuckles, "If she has my name, then she has all of me. So, I have never been on a date. I don't like going out. If I can stay in bed all day, I will do that. Books are more fun than human." He turns serious. "Should we go out?" I asked him. I was trying to be sensitive to his feelings. I mean, after all, his waiting and stuff of a kind, I think I'm going to give that a try.   Seikun paused and stared at me, trying to search my eyes.   "It's getting creepy," I told him. "Sorry," he shakes his head, "I thought I was dreaming again." "I was just thinking, it will be good if Cambridge would have a happily married couple who would lead them. Just like my parents." I smiled at him, "But we cannot be seen together, for now, let's do that when I'm in the palace." I suggested, "But we can start building a good relationship now while we're still together."   Seikun is responding by just staring at me. It's awkward and funny at the same time. I have decided to take this into consideration now. An actual princess always puts her country first, and maintaining a noble reputation is part of it. I think I'm keeping this genius.     [To Be Continued]
