"Ah there you are!" Portia glided toward Frankie, whose back was still pushed against the closed door trying to take back everything that had just occurred. If Portia noticed this she pretended she didn't. "I was just telling your father that the bridal store called last night and was able to book out the entire suite for us this afternoon to get the dresses sorted! Isn't that wonderful?" Her future stepmother beamed at her. "No, no it wasn't wonderful," Frankie thought. She was sure her lack of enthusiasm was obvious but Portia never reacted. Frankie had come to the conclusion she was either blissfully ignorant or she was too busy hiding something that she wouldn't dream of rocking the boat. Whatever the answer, Frankie tried, as always, to give the benefit of the doubt. It didn't change
