The moment the bond answered—
everything went wrong.
A force slammed through the cabin hard enough to shake the walls.
Not outward.
Inward.
Like the entire room had just been pulled toward a single point.
Rhydan grabbed Aurenya instinctively before she hit the floor completely.
“Aurenya!”
But her body arched sharply in his arms, a broken gasp leaving her lips.
The mark along her skin was glowing now.
Not faintly.
Fully.
Like something underneath her flesh had finally stopped hiding.
Kaelor swore under his breath. “The merge accelerated.”
Rhydan snapped his head toward him. “Then stop it!”
But Kaelor didn’t answer.
Because outside—
the presence had disappeared.
Not gone.
Moved.
Too fast to track.
Arinya stumbled backward suddenly with a sharp cry.
