The next morning, Captain Aiden Khan's squad guided Jake's team to their permanent residence for the entire year. It was a two-story establishment. The upper level was their residence whilst the first level will be their post where they will receive patients and perform surgeries if needed.
After settling, Captain Khan showed them the surroundings and made them familiarize the people and some basic rules that need to be observed. Some do's and don't and they will be escorted by his men wherever they go. Aiden also told Jake that he will be his escort at all times wherever he goes. Jake has no problem with it since that was for their good and safety.
"Thank you for the kind hospitality," Jake spoke in front of everyone as they were all gathered in the meeting room. The soldiers made a simple celebration welcoming the medical volunteers.
"We should be the one thanking your team, Doctor Ellis." Replied Aiden. "We have been asking for help for a long time, but no one wants to volunteer since this place is a remote area and severe diseases spread faster. Hope your team won't give up on us and I'm wishing for our harmonious cooperation." Explained Aiden with utmost sincerity.
"We will do our best to serve the people in our areas. Please keep us safe," Jake said. "Trust us, Doctor Ellis," replied Captain Aiden Khan.
The simple party continued, Jake went out for a bit and thought of calling Brent.
"Where are you going, Doctor Ellis?" Aiden spoke behind him.
"I just want to make a call," replied Jake, turning his back to face Aiden.
"Your wife?" Asked Aiden, Jake frowned. "Oops, sorry. You don't have to answer me." Aiden raised both hands. "Please carry on, we don't restrict phone calls," Aiden told him.
"That's fine, but I don't have a wife, Captain." Jake grins a little. "By the way, since we're not in the same fields. It's a bit uncomfortable if you keep calling me Doctor Ellis. You can call me Jake if you aren't bothered by it."
"That would be great," replied Aiden. "You can as well call me by my name. Just call me Aiden."
"Okay, Aiden." Jake extended his hands for a shake which Aiden gladly took and gently kneaded his palm.
Just then, Jake's phone rang, and Brent's caller photo popped up on Jake's phone screen. It's a photo of him and Brent. Jake was laying on the bed while Brent kissed his cheeks. Their bodies were covered with a duvet and obviously, they were both naked underneath.
Jake instantly hides his phone behind him, but Aiden already saw it. "Jake gulped and thought Aiden we're going to be disgusted by him.
"Am, Excuse me for a minute," Aiden nodded and motioned him to answer the call.
Jake walked a few steps away from Aiden, but Aiden never left his eyes on Jake. He was watching Jake's back, sometimes it jerks whenever he chuckles.
"Booh!"
"f*****g s**t!"Aiden cursed. Ashlan sneaks behind and frightens him. "What the hell are you doing Sargent Ashlan?!" Aiden yelled at him. Ashlan laughed at him and looked in the direction where his captain glued his eyes earlier.
"He's pretty, do you like him?" whispered Ashlan fondling his jaw.
"Oh, shut up! He's our Doctor for the entire year. And better shut your f*****g mouth if you don't want to scare him and run away from us!" Aiden warns him, he knows how talkative Sargent Ashlan is.
"Chill," Ashlan holds up his hands. "I know that captain. It's a rare opportunity for this unlikely place to have a good Doctor. I know that of course. But there's nothing wrong with liking him though. He seems like a good man, but I'm not sure if he's into men." Ashlan litany.
Aiden just shrugged his shoulders off. "I'm sure he's into men," Aiden Thought as he saw Jake's picture cuddling with a man with whom he was talking happily right now. Indeed he was mesmerized by Jake's beauty right at the moment his eyes had a glimpse at Jake in the airport.
His heart was thumping loudly and it felt like jumping out of his ribcage. When they shake their hands, Aiden thought he was shot by a teaser right at his heart. Electricity comes flowing through his whole being electrocuting every nerve inside him.
When he holds Jake at his waistline when he almost trips at the notch, Aiden's mind almost melts at his sinful imagination.
Jake's waistline is just so perfectly fit in his big hands as if it was purposely made for him.
However, Aiden would risk nothing to scare the Doctor away.
"Ahem!" Ashlan faked a cough to get Aiden's attention and mouthed to Jake who is now trudging back to them.
"Hello, Doctor Ellis," greeted Ashlan. "Hello, Sergeant Ozark." Jake greeted him back. "I'll get in first," Jake and then glances at Aiden before leaving.
The following day, the medical team began accepting patients. However, it seems like the residents were still aloof to the foreigners. Jake could count on his five fingers the patient dares to go to their posts and they're all from the soldier squad.
"This won't do," Jake runs his fingers through his silky jet-black hair. It's already their second day since they opened the station but still, no resident walked in for checkups. Jake didn't come here to just sit all day on his comfortable chair. He has to do his job and his purpose for coming there.
"Nigel, Shena, Grayson, and Dr. Ava, please prepare the necessities. We're going house to house method," Jake ordered. " Yes, Doc. Replied Ava, one of the anesthesiologists. "Doc. Megan, Doc. Raffa, nurse Alex, and nurse Tricia, please stay here just in case a patient comes." Jake ordered and everyone agreed, they knew once Jake had decided, no one could stop him from doing what he wanted.
"Please, get ready, I'll go get permission from the captain." Jake then went outside to find Aiden. He spotted Aiden talking with his subordinates not far from their posts. Seems like giving them instructions.
"Excuse me, Captain," Jake called him. Aiden dismissed his subordinates before answering Jake. "It's Aiden, Jake." He corrected Jake. "By the way, is there any problem?" He asked
"Yes, there is. That's why I'm here to ask you to escort us while we're doing the house-to-house method." Explain Jake
"House to house method?" Aiden frowned
"Yes, captain. The residents seem aloof and scared of foreigners, that's what I conclude. So why not reach out to them first."
"Okay, I'll arrange the time and will discuss it–"
"We're living now, captain, please gathered your people." Jake stopped Aiden's sentence midway.
"But it's dangerous if we casually roamed the streets and knocked on every house." Replied Aiden a bit worried
"Look, here Captain," Jake settled his hands on his waistline and stared at Aiden's blue eyes firmly. "We're here for a medical mission, our mission is to cure and attend to those people in need, not sitting all day in that damn swivel chair! So it's either you escort us, or you escort us! Be ready within an hour."
Jake sternly stated and turned his back at Aiden who seemed surprised at his statement. Aiden shook his head in disbelief. No one ever in his subordinates dared to talk to him like that and even raised voices at him. Especially ordering him and leaving him without a choice.
"Interesting!' Aiden mumbles and bites his bottom lip before gathering his deputies.
