Chapter 14-2: The Luna

1641 Words
Toby Chester had never been separated from his twin brother, Terry Chester, since the day they were born. Terry was there for Toby, cheering him when their parents died during a horrible car accident. Terry was also keeping him unharmed from the bullies who despised Toby's low wolf stature. Regardless of all the bad things that happened in his life, Toby could endure it, because he knew that his brother would always be right by his side, protecting him. Sadly, Toby felt that the moment has come for him to be separated from his brother... forever.    Desperate for a miracle, with his teary eyes, he pleaded to the future Luna of Silvermoon Pack to save his brother's life.   "Toby, what's wrong? Why are you suddenly crying?" Noah asked him, feeling clueless about what happened. He patted Toby's shoulder; bringing a little comfort to him.   "Terry... He... it seemed he was attacked... by a Violet pack in the Black River, he said his body had turned violet." He paused and sobbed, "Please future Luna you got to save my brother Terry!"   'He got violet poison!' Ruiz informed, 'It was a legendary poison feared by any werewolves in the world because there is no antidote for that poison yet...'    'But how can we save him?' Noah consulted Ruiz while trying to comfort Toby at the same time.   'We can heal him, Noah. I am sure our power can neutralize this poison, but the problem is... how to get there on time? We must be quick; otherwise, it will be too late to save the boy's life.'   Noah saw Toby who was still in a panic, "Toby I may save your brother's life, but I need to get fast, do you know how?"   Toby nodded and quickly wiped out his tears. "I probably know the secret passageway which can bring us quickly to the Black River," he gave a signal to Noah to follow him outside his bedchamber.   'Noah this is probably a dangerous mission, we should prepare ourselves for the worst,' Ruiz warned.   Noah agreed, he took his backpack that contained all of his werewolves-hunter equipment from the closet and followed Toby, who walked into the direction of Thomas's office. They could easily sneak inside since the entire pack members were having a party in the dining hall.   As soon as Noah entered the office, he could see a painting of Moon Goddess, wearing a sleeveless white long dress, her hair was silver and her eye was blue. He didn't realize the painting was there for the first time he came here to perform the rite of rejection.   'She is beautiful.'   While Noah admired the painting, Toby carefully pulled a thick-golden colored book inside the bookshelf, which made the painting slide over to the right a little bit, opening a secret new pathway for Noah and Toby to enter.    "I found it by accident during cleaning," Toby explained, "if we go through here, the path will directly lead us to the place where Terry was stationed for guarding duty, the Black River."   'Before we proceed, let’s use the anti werewolves tracking perfume, in case the violet pack is still around the Black River,' Ruiz suggested.    Noah agreed, he took the perfume out from his backpack and sprayed it on Toby and himself.    "What was that Noah?" Toby asked while sneezing, he was still unused to the effect of the perfume.   "This is something I used to hinder myself from werewolves' sensitive tracking nose, just in case the Violet Pack is still around the Black River."   Toby nodded; he never knew that Noah possessed such rare knowledge that was useful in combat.   'I thought omega should only know doing house chores, If I never met Noah, I never knew that omega wolf could also... fight.'   "Toby we don't have time to waste," Noah quickly warned him, bringing back Toby from his daydreaming. He shook his head and then entered the secret passageway, followed by Noah.   ***   No matter how much wine he drank that night, Drake Silvermoon couldn't erase Noah's sweet image out of his mind. He soon got tired of the party and Ken's joke didn't make it any better. So he rose up from his chair and asked his mother's permission to lend him Noah's room key card.   At first, Lea gave him an uneasy silence, but Drake kept pushing his mother until she gave up.    "Please don't do something that both of us will regret!" she warned him.   "Relax mother, I just wanna have small talk with him, you know, getting to know each other." Drake grinned when he received the key from his mother. "We're gonna get married after all."   Thomas, who sat next to his wife and listened to all of their conversations, began to speak, "Son, you can meet him tonight in his bedroom, but if you screw up..." Thomas smacked his right hand on the 17 feet long mahogany dining table and it instantly divided into two pieces, making all the food on the top of it fall to the floor. The guests who were initially talking and laughing became silent in an instance. "You will have the same fate as this table, understand?"   Drake gulped and nodded in response to his old man and left the dining hall after he received Noah’s room key.   'Relax Drake you got this, you just need to play your card right in order to get his heart back or even better to get laid tonight.' He smirked to imagine that he and Noah made love in every position that he ever wanted.   As he walked closer to Noah's bedroom, he checked himself on the mirror that hung on the hallway and groomed up a little before he entered.    'Drake you're hot, No women can resist your charm.'   When he opened the door, the room was empty, He began to panic and quickly checked the bathroom, but there was no sign of Noah's presence.    'Where the hell is he? Did he manage to escape? Did someone kidnap him?'   The thought of Noah being missing, tortured his mind; he quickly ran off to meet his parents in the dining hall, but surprisingly the room was empty.   "Drake, I was looking for you!" Ken shouted while running toward him, he was gasping. "Violet pack is invading our territory; everyone is gathering in the front gate, just in case they are asking for a war."   "Did they kidnap Noah?" Drake asked, ignored the detailed information while rushing to the front gate.    "I don't know what you are talking about?" Ken shrugged, "Is Noah gone missing? But how?"   "I don't know! I cannot find him in his room!" Drake shouted to his Beta, trying to release his stress, "if they were the cause of Noah's disappearance, I swear I'll kill every single one of them!"   Feeling confused and angry, Drake marched toward the front yard of the Silvermoon Mansion, only to find that his parents and the rest of the pack warriors were having a meeting face to face with the Violet Pack.   He thought that they were the culprits behind Noah's disappearance. The thought of losing his mate clouded Drake's common sense as he charged in frenzy toward them without much consideration.   ***   Noah and Toby were running inside the secret tunnel. The tunnel was long, dark, narrow, and damp. Noah could smell the mold's odor all over the place. It made him dizzy. But he tried to ignore it and keep running as fast as he could.    'A boy's life is in danger; I could care less about a small pitiful thing.'   As they continued further, the light became scarcer, forcing Noah to borrow Ruiz's blue orb, which aided his vision greatly. Toby was also doing the same thing; his eyes currently became yellow and were glowing in the dark.   When Noah tried to increase his pace, he realized that Toby was left far behind. He knew that Toby was trying to catch up with him and ran as fast as he could, but soon after, he began out of breath.   'Still, he was an omega who didn't receive any physical training at all. He was more suitable doing house chores and taking care of the pup like omega wolves stereotype,' Noah thought, 'I probably ended up the same as him if my parents didn't give me proper combat training.'   Ruiz suddenly whispered through Noah's mind, interrupting his thought about Toby. 'Noah I've sensed that the exit is near, but we must proceed carefully cos I felt the existence of other werewolves around the Black River as well.'   Noah obeyed Ruiz's advice. So when they were coming out from the exit, Noah stepped carefully and observed the surroundings before he made another move.   Unfortunately, Toby couldn't control his emotion when he saw his twin brother's body lying on the ground. Toby was screaming his brother's name and ran toward him in panic, unaware of the consequences of his action.   Noah quickly observed Terry's body, he still could feel Terry's heartbeat.   'The poison hasn’t reached his heart yet. Then there is still hope,' Ruiz explained, 'quick Noah! Give him our blessing, aim your hand at the wound on his chest, and concentrate your energy on it.'   'Ok, I will try.' Noah aimed both of his hands on Terry's wound. Soon after, his hands emitted a pure white light and shimmered through Terry's body. The violet poison, which was about to reach Terry’s heart, was gradually disappearing like it was absorbed by Noah's hand and made Terry’s skin color return to normal.   After observing Terry's vital signs, Noah and Toby knew that Terry's life could be saved, what they didn't know, there was also a certain someone who was observing them from afar.   ***
