The Kennedy Mansion

1366 Words
Arnold, Alvin Kennedy’s personal assistant sat at the far end of the restaurant, where he could keep Alvin under his watchful eyes. Just then, a young lady barged in and approached Alvin, and then slapped him om his face. Arnold wanted to intervene, but he didn't, the listened and understood she was accusing him of getting her pregnant. Arnold, did the reasonable thing he felt right and called Alvin's parents. Telling them, their reaction surprised him a little bit little. They were happy if anything. This could be their chance to get a heir to the Kennedy legacy. “Get her and bring her to the mansion…now!” Mr Kennedy ordered. Arnold didn't hesitate, he quickly signaled to the two huge men standing outside by the car. They marched in and grabbed her. As expected she struggled, but it was all in vain, they dumped her in the SUV, Arnold joined in and then they drove off. The car ride was silent. Jenny’s hands were clenched tightly in her lap, her mind racing, her heart pounding in fear. What did she get herself into? One second a look alike old Dylan claiming to be another person, and the next second she's being kidnapped. Right now, Jenny was definitely regretting entering that restaurant. Just then, she noticed the black cars flanking her own. For a second she wondered why there was so much security around her. It wasn't like she could break free anr run. Then it hit her more than ever…a reminder… This wasn't just about the slap or the accusation it might be much bigger. She was about to step into a world that was completely foreign to her… The car slowed, and as they rounded the corner, her eyes caught the first glimpse of the Kennedy estate. It was massive… more like a fortress than a home. Tall wrought-iron gates, a long, winding driveway, and a sprawling mansion that looked like it belonged in a fairy tale... if fairy tales had villains. Jenny’s heart beat in her throat. The two men who had forced her in didn’t say a word as they drove through the gates. The estate loomed over her, like the jaws of a lion waiting to swallow her whole. They stopped in front of the grand entrance, where two more bodyguards opened the doors for her. Then Arnold stepped out and away from them and walked to Jenny. “Miss McDonald,” he said as they helped her out. “I'm Arnold… Please follow us.” She stepped out, her heels clicking against the stone steps, trying to keep her composure. She followed Arnold to the door. As the doors opened to reveal the grand hall, Jenny’s breath hitched. Her eyes flung wide open. Inside was a massive chandelier, glimmering in the light, casting shadows that seemed to dance around her. The marble floors shone with an almost unnatural brightness, and portraits of stern-faced people lined the walls. Jenny swallowed hard. These weren’t just the wealthy—they were royalty, in a way. She felt out of place, a girl from a small town, lost in the labyrinth of luxury. Two more guards flanked the entrance as they led her down a hallway. They stopped at a large, ornate door, and one of them knocked softly before opening it. Inside, the room was filled with elegance. Expensive leather furniture, dark wood paneling, a fire crackling softly in the hearth. A man was sitting behind an enormous desk, and another stood beside him… both of them dressed in tailored suits that spoke of wealth and influence He turned to her, his eyes were cold, his expression unreadable. He looked like a very big deal, exuding a very dark and influential aura around him. “Miss McDonald,” the man behind the desk said, his voice low and smooth, with a touch of authority. “Please, have a seat.” Jenny hesitated for a moment before sitting down, her mind spinning. Jenny placed the pieces together in her head. This had to be Alvin's father, but he didn't look anything like Alvin, or Dylan. Could that mean, Alvin was somehow adopted by this family? “Do you know why you’re here?” the man continued. Jenny’s throat tightened. She wanted to lash out, to demand answers, but she kept her voice steady. “I don’t know why you want to speak with me… or why you brought me here?” The man chucked slightly, his head lowered a little. “You're here because we need a heir.” He said sharply. His eyes turned to her stomach. Jenny knew what he meant. He wanted to claim his child, maybe just like how he claimed Alvin. “I don't know why you believe I’m carrying your heir. But that’s not possible.” His eyes darkened slightly. “You’re mistaken. It’s not a matter of what you believe, Miss McDonald. It’s a matter of what is.” She wasn’t sure what he meant by that, but her gut told her it wasn’t good. The other man beside him, who had been standing silently, finally spoke. “We know that you’ve been misled, but there are things that you don’t understand about the situation. The Kennedy family is… deeply involved in things that go beyond the surface.” Jenny’s brow furrowed. “What are you talking about?” “We will explain everything,” the man behind the desk said. “But first, you need to understand that your child is of particular importance to us.” Jenny couldn’t keep her composure any longer. She stood up, her hands shaking with anger. “No! You don’t get to just take my child from me. I don’t care who you are or how much money you have. You don’t get to control me or my baby!” “Miss McDonald, please calm down,” the man said, his voice still smooth, but there was an edge to it now. “We’re not here to take anything from you. Quite the opposite, actually. We’re here to offer you something… an opportunity.” Jenny scoffed. “An opportunity? You mean you want me to be part of your little family of lies and corruption? Like how you did with Alvin?” Jenny let that slip out from her mouth, and she instantly regretted it. He didn't say anything, the silence in the room grew, thick and suffocating. The man’s face remained impassive, but there was a glimmer of something in his eyes. It was the truth. Alvin isn't his birth son, or in anyway related to this family. “Does he know this?” Jenny asked. “NO and he never will.” The man answered, his voice cold, almost like a threat. He cleared his throat and continued. “You’ll come to understand that this is bigger than you think. The child you’re carrying is not just any child. It’s the key to something much larger. And you’ll play a role in it, whether you want to or not.” Jenny’s pulse quickened. “What do you want from me?” “We need you to stay here, at the mansion, for the time being,” the man said. “Until we can… finalize things. You’ll be well taken care of, of course. Everything you and your child need will be provided.” Jenny’s thoughts were in chaos. Everything in her screamed to run, to leave this place. Nothing good ever came from a place like this. But even if she wanted to leave, she couldn’t. They won't let her just walk away. And also, she couldn’t leave without answers. How are Alvin and Dylan related? And also, she needed to know why her baby was so important to these people. As she stared at the man behind the desk, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was standing on the edge of something dangerous. But she didn’t have a choice now. She had to play their game. For her child. For herself. “Okay I will.”Jenny agreed. “Good!”. A fake smile appeared on his face. “Welcome to the Kennedy Family.”
