Damien's POV
My ears perk up when I hear that the boys at the firehouse have been up to no good and move to settle in to find out what happened. Then somehow, Theo manages to turn it back onto when we were kids and the night continues on like that. Everyone trying to one up each other on the funniest or weirdest or stupidest stories they can tell.
The girls stay at the end of the table and get drawn into some of the conversations every now and then, but they mainly keep to themselves. Theo always makes sure some part of him is touching Sia. His hand on her thigh or behind the back of the padded bench. My gaze drifts to Vivi every so often, her laugh a sultry, smooth sound.
They drink more and more wine and then they start in on shots. Eventually, Theo calls it and tries to wrangle them, but they’re twirly and keep getting distracted. I ask if he needs help from us, but he assures me he’s got it, practically picking them both up in his arms. Adam tells them to jump in with him, promising to send Enzo back with the car for us later.
We use a car company on nights like this and prefer him to anyone else. He’s seen a few things over the years and his discretion has bought him our loyalty and trust.
Adam saunters out the door with two women I hadn’t even seen him talking to and Gunner informs me that Callan left a while ago with a leggy redhead. I smile watching Theo try to corral the two women in his charge as they spill out of the bar. Sia is especially feisty tonight, but fireballs will do that to a tiny person.
Enzo finally texts and I round up Gunner and Scotty, who’s staying at my house for a few days to spend time with Jack. We step outside just as the blacked-out Mercedes pulls up.
Knowing it’s not that kind of night, I motion to Enzo to stay in the car and then the three of us jump in the back.
“Home please, Enz.”
“You got it, Damien.”
He’s seen us in so many states over the years we’re all now on a first name basis.
We get home after one, the foyer lamps are on, but the den and kitchen are quiet. Charlotte must have already gone to bed, which makes sense considering Jack had been up at the crack of dawn. I grab us bottles of water from the fridge and Scott nabs one of Charlotte’s special diet, protein cookies.
He groans, shoving another one in his mouth.
“Jesus, they’re good. Even Mama can’t get this recipe right.”
I nod, reaching for my own. Charlotte’s perfected them for us, and they are amazing. Both Knox and Jase insist that she send them batches every week.
“Proud of you, bro. Night.”
Scott yawns as we exit the kitchen.
“You too. Love ya,” I reply as I lock up the house.
When I get into my bedroom, I notice Charlotte has hung my suit jacket and tie up for me that I left in the car. I keep telling her not to do s**t like that because I have a housekeeper who keeps on top of it all for me, but it’s like her asking me not to take care of her—impossible.
I step out of my pants and unbutton my shirt, throwing both in the laundry hamper. I pull on a pair of shorts, brush my teeth, and use the bathroom. As I make my way over to my bed, my phone pings, and I look to see who it is.
Renee: Great game, Damien. Want to celebrate?
Sophia: Hey, I’m in town. Let me know if you’re free.
Usually, texts from either of these women would have me running back out the door, but I’m not biting tonight, even with an off day tomorrow. I flip my phone face down on the nightstand and get into bed.
Now alone, I’m able to run through my sweet goal, able to enjoy it, think about the way it hit the blade of my stick at a difficult angle but how I was able to somehow readjust, get in front of Fitzy just at the perfect moment and slam it straight into the net, top shelf.
It should never have gone in, but it did and I know that that was the catalyst for the rest of the game. Then I get to thinking how nice it would be to have someone lying next to me, to dissect the game, to have someone the way Theo has Sia. That gets me thinking about Vivi.
I know her name is Vivienne, but Vivi suits her more and f**k knows what Theo was on about tonight; some douche probably hurt her and now she’s sworn off men.
She’s got that light blonde hair and petite but curvy body. So f*****g hot, like a little fairy. Picturing her big green eyes and her pouty, kissable mouth painted red, her t**s—not huge but definitely big on her tiny frame—has my hand making its way down to my d**k, who’s now aching and semihard.
Cupping my balls, he starts to come to life even more. Pushing my shorts down and then the sheets, I start to stroke a little harder. Imagining what her smooth skin would feel like under my touch, what her lips would feel like against mine, what it would be like to kiss her, explore her.
I want to lick and nip at her delicate shoulder that was often left bare in the bar, tempting and teasing me. Begging me to bite down on. My grip tightens and speeds up. I’m embarrassingly turned on considering, but just the thought of her over me, riding me, running my hands through her hair, tightening my hold on her rounded hip, it’s game over in a record amount of time.
I’m coming, shooting all over my abs and chest as I slowly stroke myself down.
My breathing settles out and I pick up the t-shirt I discarded this afternoon to wipe away the evidence and toss it into the hamper across the room.
Holy s**t, that girl is something else. I haven’t come that quick or hard in a really long time. I pull my shorts and sheets back up, turn over, and fall into a restful sleep.
