The best day of his Life

Before Jude raise the bat they heard a key opening the door and all looked terrified at the door

Sanjay screamed: NO, HIRA NO

Viola ran, stood by the door and nervously held the Taser and Hira opened the room door like a storm, she was holding a wooden hanger on her hand and seeing Viola in front of her she screamed and hit her with the wooden hanger on her face then on her neck and shoulder, Viola screamed as she falling on the floor

Hira: STAY AWAY FROM SANJAY, JUDE

Jude looked at her shocked with in his hand the bat and near Sanjay’s leg, then looked at Viola and she was moaning in pain and trying to stand but it seemed difficult for her so she just held on Hira’s leg and picked up the Taser and that was enough to make Hira scream in fear and the wooden hanger fall from her hand as she pushing Viola away

Hira: HELP, HEEELP

Jude angrily: SHUT UP

Jude was about to go near her but for Hira’s surprise...

Sanjay: NOT HIRA

And he pulled with his tied hand the bat from Jude hands and Hit him on his shoulder so strongly that he fell at the bed, screaming in pain but Sanjay didn’t stop and kept hitting Jude with the bat over and over and Jude screams, till Hira heard a sound of c***k after one of Sanjay’s hits and Jude screamed a painful scream of agony then gasped for breath and his eyes rolled back and Sanjay kept hitting him

Hira: STOP, SANJAY STOP

Sanjay stopped hitting looking at Hira then he left the bat and pushed Jude off the bed to the floor

Sanjay: hurry, we don’t have time  

Hira ran to him and she quickly opened the chains locks from his leg and his hands and both took the chains off

Hira: Lets go, we can’t stay here a minute longer  

Sanjay held her hand and both ran out of the room as Viola finally was able to stand and went towards Jude and tried to help him up, but he screamed loudly

Jude: I can’t ....the pain is killing me....run behind them...they will tell papa

Viola picked the Taser up and rushed out and saw Hira and Sanjay at the end of the corridor running towards the elevator

Viola: STOP

And she turned on the Taser, it’s sound was too terrifying and loud that Hira felt it’s just behind her and left Sanjay’s hand and lost her balance, falling on her face and Viola ran towards her, she wasn’t so fast but Hira was so scared of the Taser, she couldn’t move and Sanjay stopped for her

Sanjay: HIRA

And he ran back and Hira again was surprised that he carried her off the floor, to his chest with one arm as if she was as heavy as a pencil and ran with her so fast till the elevator, he opened it and they entered and Hira saw Viola’s terrified eyes as she running towards the open elevator, Sanjay put Hira down and pressed G but the elevator’s door didn’t close and it asked for password

Sanjay: what is the password? I didn’t use it before

Hira’s eyes widened: I don’t know too, the b***h Sonia didn’t tell me, can’t you guess it?

Sanjay: my parents take the stairs then the rest won’t leave the chance to make the password an insult to me.

And he wrote” INSANJU” and the elevator’s door closed just before Viola reach it and went down, both took their breath looking at each other and the minute it opened they held each other’s hands and ran out of the mansion but when Hira tried to open the main gate it was closed and the doorman wasn’t there

Hira: oh my god, how will we...

But before she continues the sentence, Sanjay carried her to his chest and climbed the gate enough to make her sit on the wall!

Sanjay: Hold tight, can you turn or will you be scared?

Hira nodded her head with widened eyes and half open mouth and he nodded and climbed the gate then held on the it’s top firmly and flipped himself out, Hira gasped but he fell on his feet and she turned looking at him with widened eyes

Sanjay: Jump and I will catch you

Hira’s eyes widened: YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME

Sanjay: don’t worry, trust me

Hira: NO

But hearing Viola’s Taser, she screamed and jumped only to find herself in Sanjay’s arms, he smiled to her shocked face

Sanjay: I told you to not worry

Hira stared at his smiling blue eyes for a moment, lost in its ocean but she was taken from it by...

Viola teary eyes: Sanjay, I am sorry I swear we won’t hurt you, come back

Sanjay looked at Viola as she was holding on the closed gates bars with her half of her face red and have few bloody scratches

Viola: we won’t hurt you, just come back home

Sanjay put Hira down and looked at Viola sadly and Hira got scared Viola will weaken him so she took his hand and ran with him towards the road

Hira: Taxi

A Taxi stopped instantly and she opened the door to Sanjay and he without looking back entered the taxi and sat on the back chair

Viola: NO, SANJAY

Hira entered beside Sanjay, and noticed he was looking forward and covering his ears  

Hira: drive, drive

The taxi drove away and Hira put her hand on her chest and after few minutes she couldn’t hold her anger

Hira frowned: what was that? What kind of siblings do you have? They are criminals not less, they...

But then she stopped talking seeing Sanjay looking through the window with wide smile on his lips as If nothing happened

Sanjay: oh I think it’s going to rain, Hira (then he looked at her) I can smell the rain from now

Hira looked at him with raised eyebrows, then put her hand on her head and sighed

The Taxi: where do you want to go?

Hira: to....(then her eyes widened) oh my god, I have no idea where will we go I left the hotel and (then she looked at herself) and I am in my pajama and with slippers, I don’t have my money or even My ID

The taxi driver suddenly parked the car and looked at them

The taxi: so you don’t have my money?

Hira smiled an awkward smile to the taxi driver, then looked at Sanjay who was also in his pajama and barefoot

Sanjay: I don’t have money

Hira: can I use your phone please? I will call someone that will pay you your money

The driver frowned: fine, but you will pay for the call too

And he gave her the mobile and Sanjay looked at Hira...

Sanjay: who are you going to call?

Hira looked at him then she swallowed and she dialed a number

Hira: I am calling...umm...my uncle (then she smiled) Hola, uncle, this is Hira

Uncle: Why are you calling Hira? Are you done with your mission already? I am so proud

Hira: NO (then she looked at Sanjay) no, not really, I actually called because I need help

Uncle: help! Help in what?

Hira: well, I and Sanjay the man I work for are in the “Park Street” by the big fountain in ...ahem...our pajamas and we need a place to stay for the night and money to pay the taxi drive

The taxi driver: and the call

Hira nodded: and to pay the call and we need clothes too

Uncle angrily: you and Sanjay? And how did this happen?

Hira: well, we were being attacked and...

Uncle angrily: AND WHO WILL ATTACK YOU, HIRA?

Hira: they were attacking Sanjay and I...

Uncle: YOU SAVED HIM AGAIN

Hira smiled an awkward smile: no, I didn’t save anyone it’s just...

Sanjay got close to the phone and said with wide smile

Sanjay: YES, SHE DID...

Hira: NO

(And she covered the speaker by her hand)

Sanjay: THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE

Hira: NO (then she frowned) Sanjay don’t say that

Sanjay: why? Give yourself credit, Hira

Hira faked a smile: thanks Sanjay (then she put the phone back on her ear) so when are you coming Uncle? (Then her eyes widened) Hello? Are you there?

(Then her eyes widened and looked at the phone then dialed again and gasped)

Hira: he turned off his phone (then she looked at Sanjay) you made him hang up and turn off his phone

Sanjay’s smile vanished and looked at her confused as the driver frowned

The driver: get out of my car

Hira: you will let us get out of the car, in our pajamas

Sanjay smiled: it’s raining (then he smiled wider) it’s raining so heavy

Hira’s eyes widened: and it’s raining so heavy!!

The driver: it’s not my business, get out

Sanjay opened the door with wide smile and held Hira’s hand

Sanjay: come on, it’s raining (and he pulled her out)

Hira: NOOOO

Then she closed her eyes as she got drenched with rain and the taxi drove fast in the a shallow hole filled with dirty water that also covered her legs with mud, she groaned but seeing Sanjay’s smile, her frown vanished and she put her hand on her chest  

Sanjay: feel the rain, Hira, close your eyes

Hira smiled looking at him; with everything happening she can’t help but feel happy to see his smile, to feel tingling in her chest and when he holds her hand...

Hira: STOP IT

And she took her hand from his hand and his smile vanished and opened his eyes, seeing her frown to him

Sanjay: are you okay?

Hira frowned: of course not, I was going to get shocked by a Taser because of you, I am here in the street in my pajamas because of you, we probably will sleep in the street because of you so you can understand why I don’t care about your stupid rain or if it’s the best day of your life, so far it’s getting worse and worse

Sanjay smiled kindly and held her hand

Sanjay: don’t worry, everything will be okay

Hira smiled sarcastically: with you in my life, I don’t think so

Sanjay’s smile vanished, left her hand and frowned faintly looking away and Hira looked at him with faint frown that she hid behind it the fear and the guilt, she feels seeing his frown

Sanjay: I am sorry for tonight

Hira swallowed and looked the other way...

Sanjay: and I wish if you weren’t lying 

Hira’s eyes widened: what?!! What do you mean w... what I am lying about?

Sanjay: that you don’t care for me beyond your job

Hira took a breath in relief then frowned

Hira: I don’t

Sanjay frowned: then why did you come to the room, even though I asked you not to!

Hira: I had to protect you

Sanjay: why?

Hira: because ... because that is my job

Sanjay shook his head: your job was to tell someone, your job if I pressed the bell to come but I didn’t press on the bell Hira, and I asked you not to enter (then he got closer to her) but you did anyway, and you fought Viola and unchained me and you ran away with me from the mansion in your pajamas, why?

Hira swallowed: I ....it’s ....I had to...

Sanjay: I told you it’s okay if you don’t care for me, I don’t care for me too (then he smiled) but tonight when you entered my life, I found myself enjoying the rain touching my skin, I didn’t care for it for 11 years, I didn’t care for the breath entering my lungs, but I slept dreaming about tomorrow, I even tried to protect myself from Jude’s anger!! (Then his smile vanished) so I am sorry that I am not in your life light as you are in mine, I am really sorry

Hira put her hand on her chest: Sanjay, I didn’t mean...

Sanjay: it’s okay, listen if we borrowed a phone from someone, we can call my parents, I think I remember my mother’s number, they can take us back to the mansion or if you prefer rent for you a hotel room and you can come for me in the morning... (Then he said in low tone) if you still want to

Hira looked down as he looked around for someone to borrow phone but Jagdev’s car suddenly stood in front of them and Sanjay stood beside Hira when Jagdev walked towards her

Jagdev: Hira, your uncle sent me with all what you need

Hira smiled awkwardly: thank you for coming, this is Sanjay Singh Khatri; this is my cousin Jagdev bhai, Sanjay

Jagdev looked at her with confused frowned, then smiled and nodded

Jagdev: yes her cousin

Sanjay: thank you for coming, Hira really trusts you so I trust you on her; please take her to a safe place that can give her some soup

Hira’s smile vanished and her eyes widened as Sanjay just walked away in the other way

Hira: Sanjay? SANJAY? WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

Sanjay ignored her and continued walking in fast steps and Hira covered her lips

Hira: oh my god, oh my god I hurt him so much and he is going to kill himself

Jagdev smiled: good, you did great

Hira looked at Jagdev with widened eyes then she looked at Sanjay and was about to run behind him but Jagdev held her arm

Jagdev: let him go

Hira in low tone: hold my arm harsher, hurt me 

Jagdev: what?!!!!! Why

Hira screamed: AW, JAGDEV, YOU ARE HURTING ME

Sanjay turned with widened eyes and ran towards her

Sanjay: HIRA

Hira smiled but for her shock, he grabbed a big rock from the road and ran towards Jagdev with the same scary look that was on his face when he hit Jude

Hira: OH GOD, bad plan, he will kill you, Leave my arm

Jagdev: why?!!!

Jagdev left her arm surprised and Hira rushed towards Sanjay and put her hands on his chest

Hira: drop the rock, I am okay

Sanjay frowned: why was he hurting you? He is not your cousin, isn’t he?

Hira: he didn’t mean too, please drop the rock I am okay

Sanjay: are you sure, you are okay?

Hira smiled and nodded, Sanjay smiled and left the rock and Jagdev looked at him with shocked eyes, as Hira held on Sanjay’s arm and he held her hand while frowning in anger looking at Jagdev

Hira smiled: can you take us to a place with a soup now?!!

Few hours later...

Eve, Marie and Adarsh were having breakfast in silence, till they heard sound of moans of pain, Adarsh frowned and looked towards the door of the mansion and was shocked to see Jude moaning in pain and his shoulder in a cast and supported by Viola who has bandages over her neck and cheek

Jude in low tone: the bastard son of Marie broke my shoulder, I will kill him and I will kill that Hira, I swear to god, they are dead

Viola frowned: please stop, enough what happened to us?

Jude in low tone: you want me to leave my right?

Viola: we weren’t entering “the crazy room” to change the light bulbs, Jude; we wanted to hurt Insanju (then she shook her head) I don’t know what we were thinking, I am so worried for him

Jude frowned: worried for him?!!!! For Insanju?

Adarsh: VIOLA, JUDE COME HERE

Both finally noticed that Adarsh in the dining room and looked at each other with fear then walked to him, and he looked at them shocked

Adarsh: what happened to you?!!! Did you have an accident or something?

Viola: yes, yes we went for a ride at dawn and we hit the car in the pavement

Marie smiled half smile: really a ride in the dawn?!! Which car? Because I assume if you look like that, then the car must be in a really bad condition, so which car I will found in a bad condition?

Jude swallowed: none, stepmother; we....we were riding a taxi

Viola nodded and Marie smirked with raised eyebrow

Marie: you took a ride in a taxi, when we have 5 cars and also in dawn (then she looked at Adarsh) clearly they are lying, Adarsh

Adarsh nodded: yes I can see that, Marie (then he frowned) now tell me what really happened or bear the consequences

Eve in low tone sadly: did you fight with each other?!!

Viola and Jude looked at each other then they nodded to Eve...

Jude: yes, that is the truth (then he looked at Adarsh) I am very sorry, Papa; I promise you I won’t do that again (then he looked at Viola) sorry Viola

Viola: I am sorry too

Adarsh: ENOUGH, sit down and eat your breakfast, I will deal with you later

Both sat in silence and ate whatever was in front of them

Adarsh: SONIA

Marie: what do you want Sonia for, Honey?

Adarsh smiled: I was thinking to ask Hira the angel of mercy to have breakfast with us

Jude and Viola looked at each other and Marie’s eyes widened in shock

Marie: Hira will eat with us?!!(Then she shook her head) no, no Adarsh this is too much

Eve smiled: I think it’s a great idea, Papa, and maybe Sanjay will come to eat with us too? What do you think papa?

All looked at her as if she saying something unthinkable and stupid, and Adarsh smiled to Marie

Adarsh: it’s not too much dear, that is the least we can do with her, in fact thinking about it, I think it will be only appropriate if I call her myself

Marie: Adarsh, I don’t even trust her, don’t you think it’s a strange coincidence that she turned to be a nurse, not to mention her being in the abandoned factory!! (Then she shook her head) I don’t buy it, something is wrong with this girl

Adarsh frowned and put his fork down...

Adarsh: I did think of what you said but her papers explains it all, she used to work in the MIC hospital, and this hospital is two streets behind the ... (then he closed his eyes with a frown) ...abandoned factory and some of the nurses including Hira was living in an apartment in a building that looking at the factory, so it does make sense, for her to be there and I AM THANKFUL That she was there in the right time to save my only son, I don’t know about you! 

Jude’s eyes widened: only?!

Adarsh: Marie, I think you are jealous of her on your son and you need to stop this and think of your son’s well-being before anything else

Marie frowned: and why would I be jealous of the nurse?!! I am his mother

Adarsh: you know what, it will be even more appropriate if you ask the Angel of mercy yourself

Marie frowned and got off the table and ascended the stairs and Adarsh’s frown lessened then looked at his children

Adarsh: by the way, don’t think that because Sanjay was saved and you took a couple of slaps, you got away from punishment (Then he shook his head) no, you just wait for it, now eat

The three looked at their plates and wasn’t able to put another bite in their mouth, and it was a complete silence except of the sound of Adarsh’s fork for several minutes but out of sudden they heard a loud scream that made them all stand on their feet and their heart pound in fear

Marie: ADARSH

Adarsh: MARIE

They found Marie running down the stairs, then towards them, her face was shocked and in her hand the chains!!

Marie: Sanjay is not his room (then her eyes crowded in tears) the chains are on the floor (then her eyes crowded with tears) HIRA UNTIED MY SON, SHE SHOULD PAY FOR IT

Adarsh: SONIA

Sonia came running and stood in front of Adarsh

Adarsh frowned: EVERY SERVANT AND EVERY SECURITY MAN WILL LOOK FOR SANJAY AND HIRA EVERYWHERE, IN THE MANSION, AROUND IT, EVERY ADDRESS IN HIRA’S RESUME, AND YOU WILL BRING HIRA BEFORE BRINGING SANJAY

Sonia: yes sir

 (And she ran away as Adarsh put his hand on his head and Viola and Jude held each other’s hand)

Adarsh: we should call the police

Eve: but papa Sanjay is 24, means he is adult no way we can say Hira kidn*pped him especially that no  one knows his condition or knows that we are chaining him in the third floor room

Viola: yes technically we are the one k********g him not Hira

Jude: yes papa we hid him all this years for our family’s image, we won’t sacrifice it now

Marie with teary eyes: YOU DON’T WANT US TO FIND MY SON, YOU...

(Then her eyes widened and looked at Adarsh)

Marie: the camera, how I forgot about it?

Jude and Viola looked at each other shocked as Adarsh looked at Marie confused

Adarsh: what camera?

Marie smiled with teary eyes: I hid a camera in Sanjay’s room to record everything happening to him, it must recorded what happened yesterday

And she ran to the stairs and ascended it and Adarsh and Eve ran behind her, as Jude and Viola stood frozen in their places

Viola: we are dead, Jude (then her eyes crowded with tears) they will see what we did to him, what were we thinking?!!

Jude held his head with shivering hands and breathed heavily in fear

As Adarsh, Marie and Eve reached to the third floor and Marie pulled one of Sanjay’s books and opened it; and it turned to be a hollow case hiding a small digital video camera inside

Marie: now we will see what happened

Adarsh and Eve stood in front of the screen of the camera but it displayed nothing

Marie’s eyes widened: what is wrong with it?!!

Then she opened the memory card‘s slot and it was empty

Marie: it’s gone, someone took the memory card, someone took the recordings, Adarsh  

Meanwhile

“knock..Knock”

Hira: Sanjay, you are in the shower for almost an hour now, the soup will get cold (then her eyes widened) you are still alive right?

Sanjay chuckled: YES

Hira took a deep breath in relief and hearing the shower turns off, and she went to the kitchen and filled two small bowls with soup, then she sighed looking at her reflection in the tray then looked at her black Saree and the shawl on her shoulder and she smiled 

Hira: you were more beautiful in a Saree, ma

And she sighed then she took the food and put it on a table in front of the TV and took a full spoon of the soup and moaned in delight

Hira: that is so good

Sanjay: Hira?

Hira smiled: I am here, in the living, there is a good comedy film on

But the minute Sanjay entered, her smile vanished and her eyes widened and seeing that he stopped drying his hair and looked at her with widened eyes

Sanjay: what? What is wrong?

Hira smiled: nothing, it’s just it’s the first time I see you like that, you look so...

Sanjay looked at his blue jeans and the white shirt then touched his silky wet hair

Sanjay: ridiculous, I know; the shirt is too tight and it got so wet

Hira bit her lower lip then she swallowed and touched her hair

Hira: ahem, no...No you look okay, come sit and eat your soup (and she patted on the couch)

Sanjay smiled widely and sat beside her then held his bowl of soup and ate a full spoon and chuckled looking at the Tv then looked at her

Sanjay: you look so beautiful in a Saree, but again you look so beautiful in everything

Hira looked at him with faint smile that lessened in the minutes she was looking at him and nothing else

Hira: Sanjay, what happened?

Sanjay’s smile vanished and looked at her and seeing the blood drained from his face, she shook her head and smiled

Hira: forget it, don’t mind, and continue your soup

Sanjay smiled: I am done; I think I will go to the bed and I think you should go too, you look tired

Hira smiled: you got that right

(And she turned off the TV with remote and walked with him in the rooms corridor)

Hira: I prepared the beds, there is two rooms here you will take that one and I will take that one

And they went to a room and Sanjay sat on the bed and took off his shoes, then put his hands together to Hira and Hira looked at him confused..

Hira: what?

Sanjay: won’t you tie me?

Hira: tie you, do I have to?

(Sanjay nodded faintly, and she looked at him for a moment the she smiled to him)

Hira: you know...

And she pushed the room’s couch beside his bed and Sanjay looked at her confused

Hira: this day was the best day of your life and we won’t change that, get on bed and gave me your hand

Sanjay lay down confused and gave her his hand and for his surprise she took off her shawl and tied his right hand with a side then tied her left hand and leaned on the couch, Sanjay looked at her with wide smile and in complete disbelief

Sanjay: that is it! No ropes or chains

Hira smiled: yes; now sleep, I am very sleepy

Sanjay: okay but come on the bed and I will sleep on the couch

Hira: No way will I make you sleep near the door; no you have to go over me before getting out

Sanjay chuckled: okay

And he closed his eyes and Hira looked at him then said in low tone

Hira: Sanjay, please promise me you won’t hurt yourself again no matter what

Sanjay looked at her for a moment then he smiled faintly

Sanjay: I promise, Hira
