The four looked at Marie and she nodded to them then went to her room, so did Viola and Eve, only Sanjay and Jude stayed, both sat on opposite chairs, Sanjay’s eyes were lost and teary, and Jude’s eyes was fixed on him

Jude: I don’t want to be the person I am, Sanjay; I don’t want to live with what I did to Hira and you

Sanjay in low tone: you didn’t do anything to us, she tempted you to steal the cheque and she stole it from you to punish our father and I am the one who didn’t listen to her reasons and didn’t give her a chance, what happened with us was our choices, you have nothing to do with it

Jude’s eyes crowded with tears: she didn’t choose that; Sanjay, I never admitted it but I sometimes want to hurt you although it makes me hate myself even more, because you are my brother and I love you but it makes me so angry seeing you so happy and loved when I am not (then his eyes crowded with tears) and that is what Hira noticed and talked to me about the day of my birthday

Sanjay looked at Jude with attention as Jude nodded...

Jude: Hira never told me to steal the cheque, I lied; she just told me to get my own life and not envy you but I heard what I wanted to hear, because I just wanted to run away from your shadow, I didn’t care what will happen and when I was ready to go, she figured out what I did and tried to stop me from doing this to Papa

Sanjay frowned confused: what?

Jude nodded: and after I found out the cheque is with her, I came to threaten her and take the cheque and leave but when you caught me and I saw my mother and Hira, and how they were looking at you as a knight and how they were looking at me as a coward criminal, I knew I can’t face the family unless I am not the devil in the story, I had to put the blame on some else and I was so angry from Hira because I thought she and Jagdev planned to steal the cheque (then he looked at Sanjay with teary eyes) and I was angry even more from her, for loving you that much when I have no one (then he swallowed) so I put the blame on her, and I didn’t mention how she reacted when Jagdev told her he will hurt Viola, how she screamed “ we have to save Viola”

Sanjay sat straight and his eyes widened as Jude continued with while bowing his head

Jude: and when you found the cheque inside the passport, I knew she didn’t steal it, she just took the passport so I won’t leave to America and fell in Jagdev’s trap, I knew that because... (Then he looked at Sanjay) because I am the one who put the cheque in the passport not her, I just said I didn’t so you won’t believe her and you really didn’t believe her

Sanjay held his head and felt he will lose his mind, Hira is completely innocent and he didn’t believe her or hear her, he is the one betrayed her love and broke her heart, when she was trying to protect him and his family all along and never hurt him even though he is the son of the man killed her parents, what kind of heart she has?!! And what was he thinking when he broke it?

Jude: forgive me Sanjay, and tell her to forgive me

Sanjay’s eyes widened: tell her to forgive you?!! Do you think she will hear me? Do you think she will forgive me (then tears flowed on his cheeks) do you think she can forget what I did to her (then he closed his eyes and put his hand on his forehead) why you did to me Jude? Why didn’t you just break my bones instead of making me break her heart?

Jude sat on his knees in front of Sanjay, and bowed his head as tears streaming on his face

Jude: I am so sorry Sanjay, hit me, shout, do anything but don’t break like that, I can’t take seeing  you like that (then he held Sanjay’s shoulder and his eyes widened) listen, she will forgive you, she loves you, go talk to her, tell her you know what I did, tell her not to leave, tell her we will do anything to make her happy, we will treat her like one of us, tell her I will never upset you again and never will hurt anyone again and will make it up to you, her and everyone

Sanjay looked at him with teary eyes as Jude nodded to him

Jude: go Sanjay go, trust me, she will forgive you

Sanjay looked at the stairs with widened eyes then ran upstairs till the second floor, he heard sound of crying coming from Hira’s room that it’s door was wide open, he took a deep breath then walked to the room, looking from the entry, only to be shocked seeing Eliana is the one crying, holding in her arms Mario and Pedro, and their faces covered with wound and bruises that Hira is treating

Sanjay’s eyes widened: who did this to you?

Mario and Pedro frowned and looked at Sanjay and Hira didn’t look and just continued treating the twins

Eliana: how could you ask your security man to do this to my children, Sanjay? They are just 15, what is there fault in what happened between you and Hira?

Sanjay shook his head with widened eyes: they should have not do that, I didn’t ask them to do that

Mario frowned: I was sad that uncle Adarsh’s children are our siblings except of you, Sanjay; you are the only one of them I wanted him to be my brother

Pedro frowned: but now I am not sad

Eliana frowned: after you treated Hira so horribly, took me against my will to Jagdev and locked my children in the room, how you think we will believe you?

Sanjay couldn’t say anything, they are right, after what he did to them, how could they believe him?

Hira: Sanjay must be saying the truth; he maybe was angry and hurt us but he wouldn’t hurt Pedro and Mario like that, not intentionally at least

Sanjay looked at her then looked down, Pedro and Mario looked at each other still frowning and Eliana nodded, Sonia came at the door with two security guards, looked at Sanjay then looked down sadly

Sonia: the taxi arrived, Hira; Are you ready? should we take the suitcases?

Hira smiled faintly and nodded: yes please

Then she held two folded dresses that were beside her closed suitcase and gave them to Sonia, Sonia looked at them then looked at Hira

Hira: this is the dress you liked and another one I would like you to have

Sonia hugged Hira and cried silently Hira patted on her back then the two security guards took the four suitcases and left, Sonia smiled to her taking the dresses and following them, Hira put her handbag on her shoulder...

Sanjay: Hira can I talk to you?

Hira looked at Sanjay then looked down as Mario and Pedro frowned and shook their heads to Hira

Sanjay: please, Hira

Hira: nanny, can you all wait for me in the Taxi, please?

Eliana frowned: are you sure?

Hira nodded faintly, Eliana nodded and took Pedro and Mario and the three got out, Sanjay was about to close the door behind them but Hira’s eyes widened in fear, so he didn’t

Sanjay: Jude, told me everything, I knew how much I hurt you, I ... what I did to you is unforgivable but after what I heard I...I felt... it’s because I love you and trust you, if only you told me everything from the beginning (then he shook his head) I am not giving myself excuses or blaming you, no matter what I should have heard you and believed you, I regret everything I did so much, I will never...

Hira interrupted: I didn’t answer your question, about why I didn’t tell you that I am Hira Garcia, I actually answered it a lot before like I told you, but you didn’t understand it; remember when I told you that if you knew me you will hate me and I will lose you (then she looked down) that is why I didn’t tell you, because I thought you will hate me for the pain I caused you for the past 11 years and for coming here to hurt you even more and then I will lose you or see you in pain and guilt for what your father did to my family and I couldn’t take seeing you like that again; that is why I broke the phone so you won’t hear I am daughter of Radha Garcia, that is why I never told you who I am

Sanjay: no no (then he put his hand on her hands) why would I hate you? you never hurt me and it’s not your fault that I blamed myself for what happened to you 11 years ago, I hurt you so much Hira I know, but I love you and I will make it up to you

Hira with teary eyes: and I loved you Sanjay, so much but now I don’t love you anymore

Sanjay looked at her with teary eyes and shook his head disbelief

Hira: now I want to lose you, I want to forget the cruelty I and my family felt on your hands (then she hugged herself) I want to forget how you looked at me and that fear I felt between your arms and still feel it till now

Sanjay with teary eyes: Hira...

Hira wiped her tears: I will forget you Sanjay and never will think of you again and you should do the same, live your life for once, try to be happy and be sure that I am happy too

Sanjay looked at Hira with teary pleading eyes and Hira closed her eyes and pressed her hand on her chest as tears flowing on her cheeks, in the same time Marie entered running, she looked at Hira for a moment then said

Marie smiled: Sanjay, the Lawyer called and the case will be dropped, there will be some procedures, then they will get your father out of Jail and there will be other procedures then we can take your father  home, come with me, we have to be there for him

Sanjay looked at Hira, and Hira closed her eyes then she smiled and took her bag and walked out

Sanjay: Hira?

Hira looked at him, then she rushed away and his eyes widened

Sanjay: HIRA

Marie: Sanjay (and she held on him) let her go

Sanjay shook his head and freed himself and ran behind Hira, Hira ran as fast as she could out of the mansion door and passed by Jude who looked at her shocked and shook his head in disbelief as tears flowed on his cheeks

Sanjay: HIRA

Jude looked at Sanjay who was about to run out of the mansion, but two security guards held him to give Hira the chance to ride the taxi

Sanjay: NO, HIRA, DON’T LEAVE, HIRA, HIRA

Jude bowed his head in shame, and walked out of the mansion as Hira looked from the window of the taxi’s door on Sanjay, tears streaming on her cheeks

The taxi driver: are you ready Ma’am?

Sanjay’s eyes pleaded to her eyes, she cried silently and then looked forward and said in low tone

Hira: I am ready, sir

The taxi drove away and Sanjay screamed (HIRA )and when the taxi vanished the security Guards left him and he fell on his knees and pressed his hands on his chest, bowed his head as tears flew on his cheek

At Night

In the police station

Adarsh: where are we going?

The warden smiled widely: you are getting out, your son paid the cheque for you but there are some procedures you need to do first

Adarsh’s eyes widened: Jude?

The warden: no the young one

Adarsh: SANJAY?!!! How?

Then he walked with warden, only to see Marie, Viola and Sanjay waiting for him in front of the department warden’s office and seeing him Marie ran towards him, as Viola and Sanjay stayed on the chairs, and Sanjay was looking down with his eyes red and filled with tears

Marie smiled: you are getting out, my love; just some procedures and we will take you home

Adarsh: Hira flew back to Spain?

Sanjay looked at Adarsh with teary eyes and nodded, Adarsh took a deep breath in relief then swallowed

Adarsh: where is Eve?

Marie smiled: she didn’t finish packing her clothes and we don’t have so much time to leave the mansion, so we let her take her time

Meanwhile

Eve frowned faintly as she putting her clothes in the suitcase then went to the bathroom, opened the medicine cabinet and took out of it a bottle with the Label “Rat Poison”!

She frowned and sighed, and emptied its contents in the toilet then stepped on the bottle angrily, smashing it’s glass into tiny pieces then swept the glasses and threw them in the toilet as well, flushed them, closed the lid and sat on it

Eve: why did you have to do this to Hira, Sanjay? She should have never left, I was so close

Then she held her head, remembering a memory from the past

Flashback 11 years ago

Alejandro: Hira is the sweetest girl, Eve, she is just 10 but she is so smart, the first on her class; I am sure when you see her you will adore her and she will love you as I love you

Eve smiled: I am sure I will, Alejandro; and not only will I be her mother but also her friend and her sister

Alejandro smiled shyly: you are in the age of her brother Jagdev; I am just the old man here

Eve smiled: you are not old (then she touched his hair) you are perfect

Hira: PAPA, THE SMELL IS SO GOOD

Alejandro smiled: Hira returned from school, okay wait here, till I break it to her (then he smiled) let me give her the beautiful doll you bought to her

Eve nodded faintly, giving him the doll, Alejandro walked out of the reception room, closed the door behind, Eve rushed to the door and opened it slightly and saw Hira who threw her school bag and Jumped in his arms

Alejandro: wash your hands so we can eat, we are having barbecue today but first tell me how is school?

Hira smiled widely: I was chosen to be the lead dancer in the party, the teacher said I dance so well (then she smiled widely) is this doll for me?

Alejandro: yes

Hira: I LOVE IT

And she took the doll and ran to the Garden and Alejandro ran behind her, Eve rushed behind them and hid behind a tree, and looked at Hira as she held the doll in one hand and a hand fan in the other fanning over the grill, Alejandro held her waist and moved her away

Alejandro: HIRA, get away from the grill, you will burn yourself

Hira smiled widely: I want to help you, Papa

Alejandro smiled: but I already have someone helping me and she will be a good friend to you, you will love her so much when you meet her

Hira frowned: she is not my friend and I don’t want to meet her ever

Alejandro’s smile vanished: why so? She is very nice (Then he smiled) she is the one brought to you this new doll, look the doll even looks like you

Hira looked at the doll then she threw the doll on the muddy ground, Alejandro’s eyes widened

Alejandro: WHAT DID YOU JUST DO? (Then he said in Spanish) you are acting like a bad girl, I am so sad now because of you, apologize instantly

Hira looked down and her eyes crowded with tears then she said in low tone

Hira in Spanish: sorry papa

Alejandro frowned: why you did this?

Hira looked down: because I heard you and mama talking, I didn’t mean to hear you I am sorry, but I heard mama saying she wants to return back to us and you told her no, there is another woman you love and that made me so sad, because I want mama, but I didn’t mean to make you sad too, I am sorry Papa

And she hugged Alejandro and cried on his chest, his eyes crowded with tears and hugged her tighter and kissed her cheek

Alejandro: oh Hira, you should know I will never force you on anything that you don’t want, you are the most important person in my life, I love you so much Hira, I never want you to be that sad again, if you don’t want to meet her it’s fine, whatever you want I will do, no matter what

And he carried Hira and entered back to the apartment, and only Eve was left in the Garden, she looked at the door closes with frown, then walked towards the doll, took it from over the mud and looked at it for a moment, touched the plastic hair of the doll then she threw the doll over the lit grill and watched it burn and melt  

Flashback ended
