CHAPTER 4

Nagising si hale nang tumunog ang kanyang cellphone.It was her alarm.Tinigyan niya kung anong oras na at nakita niyang 4:00pm na.

Hinilamos niya ang mga palad sa muka niya at tumayo.Nagpunta siya sa banyo at naligo.Pagkatapos,sinoot na niya ang damit na napili niya at pinaresan niya eto ng Black wedge shoes.She dried her hair and then she tied it into a messy bun.

Nang matapos siya tinignan niya ulit ang orasan niya at nakitang 6:30pm na.

Tumingin siya sa salamin at naglagay ng liptint at inayos niya ang damit.

She formed her fingers like a gun she tsked then winked at the mirror. "Goodluck to me." Pagkatapos ay bumaba na siya.

Pagkababa niya nakita niya na abala ang ama niya sa pagluluto at ang ina naman niya ay inaayos ang lamesa.

Hale leaned in the corner and she stare on her parents.They look sweet together and they look happy that they have each other.

she smiled sweetly."I wish i had that kind of happiness." She said.

"Oh hija,Nanjan kana pala." Her mother said with a sweet smile on her face.

"Come here dear,Malapit nang matapos tong minudo na paborito mo" Sabi ng ama nito

Lumapit si hale at tinignan ang niluluto ng ama.

Hale smelled the aroma of the food,nanubig naman kaagad ang bagang nito at tumingin siya sa ama niya at nagtanong.

"Can i taste it?." She said to her father.

Tumango ang ama nito at ibinigay sakanya ang syanse na hawak nito.Kinuha ito ni hale at walang anuman ay kumaha ng laman at kinain ito.

Napapikit si hazel sa sarap at napatingin sa ama niya.

"Di ka parin nakupas papa.Your minudo is still the best." She said while holding the spatula.

Her mom join in the conversation. "Enough with the food tasting,Hale anak,Anong oras dadating ang bisita mo it's almost 7:00pm anak." Her mother said while holding the waste of her father.

"Abangan mona ang bisita mo at magreready lang kami ng mommy mo." Ani ng ama niya habang nakaakbay naman ito sa ina niya.

"Oh,ok ma,pa.i'll wait for him outside." Pagkatapos niyang sabihin ay lumabas siya ng bahay at inabangan ang binata.

Braiden is getting ready for the dinner.Nagsoot siya ng simpleng polo shirt at lacoste shorts na above knee.Tinignan niya ang relo at nakita niyang 6:30pm na. He finish him self up and made himself look acceptable.

Pababa na si braiden ng maalala niya ang papel na ibinigay sakanya ni hale and that paper contains her address.Muntikan pa niya ito makalimutan,kaya naman dali dali siyang tumaas at kinuha ang short sa laundry basket at tinignan ito.

Thanks god hindi nawala ito sa bulsa niya kung hindi,walang braiden na sisipot mamaya.

Nang makuha niya ang papel ay nagmadali naman siyang bumaba at sumukay sa BmW niyang kotseng itim at pinaandar ito papunta sa terenova village.

Hale is waiting patiently outside their house when he saw a black BmW heading on her direction.

The BmW parked infront of their house and she was shock because for her entire life she wanted to drive this car so bad and now its here she cant wait to see who's the lucky owner of her baby.

Tatanungin na dapat niya kung sino ang may-ari nito ng lumabas ni braiden mula sa drivers seat ng sasakyan.

Bumalik kaagad si hale sa pwesto niya at nag kunwaring walang nangyare.

Braiden laughed and stared at her."Seriously,Kung gusto mong hawakan ang sasakyan ko,Your free to go." Ani nito habang nakatingin kay hale.

Inirapan lang siya ni hale at lumapit sa maliit na gate ng bahay nila.

"Pumasok kana,Mom and dad are waiting inside." Ani niya at binuksan ang gate para makapasok ang binata.

Braiden lock his car and run towards the gate.He was about to enter the gate ng biglang magsalita ang dalaga.

"And your 10 min. late.Ayoko sa lahat yung nalalate." sabi niya at nag lakad papunta sa pinto ng bahay nila.

Braiden smiled at humabol ito sakanya.Bubuksan na sana ni hale ang pinto ng bigla siyang higitin ni braiden sa braso at isinandal siya sa pader and that make's them inches away from each other

Hale can't break out from braiden's arms who's now cornering her.She can smell his manly scent and its traveling inside her nose trills and his minty breath when he breaths.

Braiden look deep into her eyes "Are you going to punish me for being late?." He said it with a husky voice then a sinful smile appeared in his face.

Namintig ang puso niya ay namula ang pisngi niya.His smile that can make all girls shiver their knees.But not her,that's what she thinks.Probably.

Iniwas ni hale ang muka nito sa muka niya."T...they A..re w..w..waiting inside.. let's g..go." Ani niya at itinulak ang binata palayo.

She pushed him away from her and she immediately opened the door Sakto namang pababa na ang magulang niya kaya naman tinawag niya si braiden upang ipakilala na niya ito sakanila.

Braiden was pushed back and she was the only girl who did it to him.

Natauhan si braiden ng marinig niya na tinatawag siya ni hale.

"Hey! Weirdo! come here." Hale said.

Nagayos siya ng damit at tumabi kaagad kay hale.Hinawakan niya ang bewang ng nito at hinigit ito papalapit sa sakanya.

He can smell the sweet fragrance of hale.She smell so good.But this is not the time to fantasize about her damn it.

Binaliwala lang ito ni hale dahil baka Kasama ito sa pagpapanggap nila.Di niya pinansin ang binata at pinabayaan nalang niya ito.

Hale composed her self and introduced him infront of her parents.

"Mom,dad This is Braiden my boyfriend." Iminuwestra ni hale ang kamay niya at naramdaman niyang humigpit ang kapit nito sa bewang niya.

Braiden stretch her hands and he introduced himself once more in a polite manners.

"Good evening sir/ma'am. I'm Braiden stavros De leon Your daugther's boyfriend.Its a pleasure to nice to meet you po." He said and then smiled.

"Its nice to see you hijo.I'm Haley Y. Cortéz,Hale's mother." Ani ng ina at nakipag kamay sa binata.

"I'm Harley Psyche Y. Cortéz. Her father." Her father said and gave him a handshake too.

Hale cleared her throat and look at them. "Shall we?." She said.

Sabay sabay namang silang nagsitanguhan at nagtungo sila papuntang kusina.

They are already eating when her mother ask braiden some question and thanks god,again that braiden answered it.

"So there is one thing na gusto kong linawin." Her father said them wipe the food residue on his mouth.

Both of them seat quietly waiting for his question.

"So? Braiden i know that your family owns a shipping lane and its a very successful business.Am i right?."Ani ng ama niya.

"Well yes sir. we are.At tatanungin niyo po ako kung Kaya ko pong buhayin ang anak niyo.Well yes again sir at hindi na po ako naasa sa mga magulang ko. I have my own shipping lane and i already have my own money." Braiden said with full of confidence.

"Well that's good but that's not what we want to ask you." Her mother said with a serious face.

"Are really my daugther's boyfriend,Boy?." Her mother said.

Braiden took a deep breath then answered. " Yes,Yes I am ma'am." Braiden said.

"If i find out that you two are not really dating.I'll feed you to my baby." Her mother said while smiling devilish.

Braiden seat closer to hale and ask her "Do you have a carnivorous baby brother or sister?." Braiden ask.

Hale look at him confused. "Carnivorous what?." She said.

"Your mom said she's gonna feed me to her baby." Braiden said while smiling at her mother.

"Oh,its our pet crocodile.That our baby." She said while smiling.

Braiden looks at her mother "Were definitely dating ma'am,ITS LEGIT" He said and he drink some water.

"Goodie,okay then." Her mother said it with a Sweet smile and continued eating.

Di mapigilan ni hale matawa sa reaksyon ng binata sa sinabi niya.

"Do you really love my daugther young boy?." Her father ask him.

Braiden was silent and hale is freaking nervous.That was way out of the line so Hale is about to answer when braiden spoke.

"Yes,sir I really love your daughter,And as long as i live,i will do everything just to make her stay with me." Ani nito.

Tumalon ang puso ni Hale sa sinabi ng binata.She can feel her tummy full of butterflies and Its making her heart go frenzy to hear that from braiden.She can feel her cheeks reddened kaya tumungo siya at nagpatuloy ng pagkain.

"Okay.if you said so. and by the way call as Tito and tita." Her father said then they continued eating.

They continued eating and after some talks they finally finish. braiden ask hale's parents that if she could come to his house to introduce her to her mother,and her parents said yes.

So they both said goodbye and hale gave them a kiss.

Braiden opened the passenger seat and hale hop in and then he closed it and run towards the drivers seat.Braiden waved goodbye and so is her parents.

Hale was happy of what it turns out,mukang naniwala ang magulang niya dito kaya pasasalamatan ang binata mamaya.

Pero may gumugulo parin sa isipan niya pano kung nalaman ng magulang niya ang totoo? pano na?. She's afraid that if they find out the truth,her freedom will disappear and what will happen to her next.

Bumuntong hininga siya at nanihimik nalang.

Napansin ni braiden na kanina pa tahimik ang dalaga kaya siya na ang unang bumasak ng katahimikan.

"So?. am i good?." Braiden said.

Hale smiled. "Yup,Good enough to make them believe of what you said.Thank you.I owe you one" Hale said.

Braiden just smiled he didn't spoke until they both reached their destination.

Nanatiling tahimik si hale hanggang sa makapasok siya sa bahay ng binata.Ipinalabot niya ang mata niya at nagustuhan niya ang pag kakadesenyo nito.

It was Calm and cozy and that made her feel at home but there is one thing that her eyes is really focus to.

And that is the lady who's sitting in a long sofa sipping a tea. She is a pretty woman.

Natauhan si hale ng bigla niyang marininig si braiden.

"Ma!,Your here?." Braiden said and then hug her.

"Kadadating ko lang hijo." Ani ng ina niya at tumingin sakanya.

hale stood frozen and she's freaking nervous.

"So? Is she the one?." Her mother said.

Braiden put his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him.

"Yes mama,Meet my girlfriend" Braiden said and then kiss her forehead and winked at her.

Nagulat si hale sa ginawa ng binata.Naramdaman nanaman niyang bumibilis ang t***k ng puso niya kaya naman iniwas niya ang tingin niya sa binata at tumingin sa ina nitong kanina pa nakatingin sa kanya.
