Chapter Six
Mac pulled up in front of the bridal store in town. He parked the truck in front of the red brick building with white trim. The pink sign on the awning read Nancy’s Nuptials.
It was mid-day, and many of the townsfolk were about. A few of the faces Mac knew. He waved to Lieutenant Luke Jackson and his fiancée, Elaine, the town’s librarian. Luke was the author of epic military science fiction novels. The retired pilot was working on the next book in the series. The last installment of Luke’s books finally had the two main characters coming together for some light romance.
Mac wasn't surprised at the twist in the plot. Not when he watched Luke lean down and kiss the lovely librarian before the two entered their favorite Mexican restaurant, likely to take advantage of the tacos
