Chapter Twelve Mac stared out at the stars and watched them twinkle. His mind raced in time to the flashing of the starlight as it glinted off the engagement ring he held up to the moonlight. The sun would rise in less than an hour. Sleep had eluded him. He’d been the same on the night before his wedding. Mac had spent the entire day assuring their families and friends that Lana would show the next day. Then he’d spent the night convincing himself that Lana would show in the morning. She loved him.
