Chapter 30 – Loveless Revenant

The party immediately recognized the ship's swinging is a little odd. Right after Laken opened the door, everything stopped in motion. The nuance of the atmosphere is very different than minutes ago.

“What's going on...?” Luciella tried not to panic.

They haven't much got away from the coast of Frostwolf and there's an unprecedented event that is occurring to them.

“Are you feeling the strong flow of magic outside?” Lena tail's restless wriggling in all directions.

“It's as if inviting us to see for ourselves,” Lena implies. Luna latches her arms onto her sister. She also felt the strong magic that's pulling them closer.

“Yeah, I'll check it out,” Laken wanted to verify it alone but the others didn't agree, “No, we'll come too,” Eirisse's bothered. He had no choice but to let the rest of the party and the sisters to accompany him.

They were in a daze to see that not just the ship, but everything around them has ceased to move midmotion. Until they went to the deck on the left section of the ship.

“Look at that...!” Lena pointed her index finger below the seas.

The water abruptly moves and right after a splashing force ripped the seas open. The majestic sight to behold astonished them in awe.

What revealed before in their presence was an enormous Nightbeast that had the form of a dragon. The dragon's wings were enough to cover the ship. What made Laken grit his teeth in anger was the dragon has four eyes.

The sign of the darkness abomination, “A Dark Entity!” Laken exclaimed with his soul aloud.

The Dark Entity in the form of a dragon is a type of Nightbeast that despite the Heavenly Heroes' might, they still fear such a monster. At least six of the heroes must be present in order to bring down such an atrocity that came straight from hell.

Before they realize it, they were also unable to move by the force coming from the top of the Nightbeast. Gradually a dark glimmer of light like a star could be noticed from the forehead of the dragon.

The light progressively moved closer to them. Until the alleged brilliance was revealed to be a woman who's levitating in the air.

She unveiled herself before them. Unable to move or anything, Laken's eyes became soft. The hatred he felt slowly fade the moment he realized the true identity of the woman who's controlling the Dark Entity.

“You're...” Laken couldn't control his feelings. His tears slowly drifted away from his cheeks.

The woman landed on the deck where they are. She ran towards Laken and gave him the warmest embrace he will always remember.

“Laken...! It's been a long time... brother!” she only removed the restrain on Laken. The moment he was freed, he reciprocated the woman's warm embrace.

“Alisa...!” Laken called her out. Eirisse and Xenon were shocked when Laken uttered her name.

Alisa's hair's the same as of Laken's colored the darkness of oblivion. Her lips' red and glossy and her tanned skin was enticing to many men.

But what makes her menacing was the black dress that dons by princesses. Her high-heeled shoes were made out of obsidian glass. She spells the doom and beyond.

With Eirisse's sheer drive, she bit her own tongue to forcefully enter into Revenant Metamorphosis just so she could be freed from the telekinetic power that's constraining her.

She revealed her claws and her fangs in displeasure. Her eyes that pierce the soul of her victim glared Alisa in the most condemning expression.

They expected what would happen. She instantly leaps through Alisa's behind to rip open her posterior but her target vanished along with the shadow.

“Alisa... Loveless Revenant. How dare you appear before Laken after your betrayal!” Eirisse retorted. She spits the remnants of her blood on the seas showing her irritation.

“You're as foolish as ever, Eirisse. Can't you see how happy he was to see his beloved again?” Alisa questions with a smirked of the devil.

Laken was kneeling and embracing himself as if he longed for her. He was crying without a doubt. He began to scrape his chest from the pain he is experiencing.

“He is suffering! Is this what you wanted to see? To witness his misery again?!” Eirisse retorted as she's trying to comfort Laken's mental state. Luciella and the sisters don't understand what is going on.

Alisa places her palms on her cheeks, “Well... it's satisfying to see him endure the grief of the world,” she said in a seductive tone.

Before she could notice strange, Xenon who just escape from her mysterious binding spell, geared up his Stargazer to the limits, “Maximum Energy Discharge: Particle Beam!” He unleashed a hundred percent energy-consuming beam of light on Alisa up to the sky-high.

It's a direct hit without a doubt. Xenon couldn't believe his sensors when not even her hair was burned a bit.

She somehow became annoyed and snapped her fingers. After milliseconds, Xenon's arms were separated from her body with such ease.

“I came here to remind the half-elf lady,” Alisa approached Luciella.

She examined her figure from head to toe. Luciella was scared but she wanted to fight too. She felt a really swelling anger in her heart when she witnessed Laken's suffering.

Alisa insinuates her finger on Luciella's ear and whispered, “Realize the wish of your friends, before it's too late.”

She flew back towards the Nightbeast's forehead. Few people that wear black cloaks and had a mark of an eye to their arm appeared as if they are with her.

Right after they vanished amidst the crystal-like glitters. The sea flowed back to the tides and everything else turned back to normal.

Everyone can move again and they immediately went where Laken is kneeling. He is facing downward as if he had lost something important.

Luciella knelt beside him, “Laken... I know you're not okay... but please tell me who is she.”

He stands up not looking at anyone's eyes, he walked past them, and just stare at the open seas as he wanted in the first place.

She wanted to approach him but Eirisse pulled her arm and shook her head, preventing her from going near him saying that it isn't the time to talk to him.

The atmosphere became more uncomfortable. They decided to left him and go back to their room.

 As they were passing through the door, Luciella glimpse back only to see Laken's teardrop visible on the metal bar. He hid his face wiping away his weakness.

The others went back to their private room. They couldn't say a thing or two until Lena breaks the awkward silence, “I won't ask you all about what just happened not because we are meddling, but because we have no right to do so,” Lena told while she drags her sister towards the door.

“My sister and I are hungry so talk it out while we're in the kitchen,” Lena suggests, “You all are adults so I know you don't want to hear this coming from younger than any of you here, but get a grip!” she forcible the door displaying her annoyance.

Eirisse thought to herself how powerless she was. She knew that Laken is under the mental pressure of seeing his sister again, which doesn't change their objectives, but instead it greatly affects those who are involved.

“Tell me Eirisse...” Luciella placed her hand on her chest, “I want to understand him more, please tell me about that woman,” Luciella may be down and dismayed, but the burning determination to help others was inscribed on her emerald eyes.

“I guess we can't keep things to ourselves,” Eirisse sat beside her while Xenon's resting on a corner keeping track of them. He fixes his broken arms with his auto-repair functionality.

“Pardon my demeanor during my Metamorphosis. I'll tell you to know about the seven Revenants as well as his sister, Alisa the Loveless Revenant,” Eirisse initiated the story that should last throughout their voyage.

The twin sisters are just behind the wooden door eavesdropping on their conversation.

Luciella embraces herself. Taking what the woman named Alisa said into account. She wanted to be aware of her comrades more rather than doing nothing.

Her mind is open to the truth. She sedulously listens to Eirisse's words with her heart.
